Jon saying he'll be back sooner than expected, and now Dana saying he'd like to make Jon v rumble

So Jones hasn't been stripped of the interim belt??

Even so, why would you have the effective number 1 and 2 contenders fight each other ahead of lining up to fight the champion?!?!?!

Don't get me wrong, it's a fight I'd like to see but just doesn't make any sense to me!

As much I want to see Jon beat DC again, we've seen it happen and it'll be a boring fight. Rumble is the only person in the top 10 likely to beat Jon, at least stylistically. What a fight that'll be.

Would love to see AJ iron Jones out, it would be so delicious.

In other news, Rory Mcdonald to Bellator?

you do know that it's an 11pm start with main card at 2am, so likely to finish around 5am or so.

Yup. Get the afternoon train up from London. Have dinner, few beers and couple of coffees. Watch it all, then the first train from Piccadilly to Euston is at 8.05 on Sunday morning.

Always the possibility he's gone a bit punch shy after Robbie nuked his nose from orbit. May turn out to be very shrewd by the UFC. I'd love for him to go on a winning streak then have a proper unification fight between the organisations.

Rory going to Bellator is good for MMA in general. I can see more fighters going across unless the UFC increase what they pay their fighters. I read Bellator offered Cowboy $350k per fight win or lose, he can also have sponsors on his shorts which is another $50-100k. In contrast the UFC pays him $170k if he wins and $85k if he loses.

thats Bellator paying too much to gain names from what ive seen,
in Cowboys last fight before his win over Rick Story, he whined that he only got $200k for being in the co-main event that did a gate of $900k on free TV,
how much more should this one fighter have got of that $900k?

I agree however I'm sure the UFC made a lot more than $900k for that event. The fighters are the show, they should be paid appropriately.

would this work?

Daniel Cornier vs Anthony Johnson (title fight)

Jon Jones vs Glover Teixeira (next No 1 contender fight)

DC vs Rumble - the same will happen again, if DC survives the first round he wins.

I don't think you can give Glover a no. 1 contender fight after getting knocked by Rumble in 13 seconds. Jon vs Gustafsson II would be my pick :D

^^ lol :D

Jones should have to fight before getting a title shot, I hope he fights AJ.

Only problem is that means there isn't really a fight out there for DC if those two fight each other .... maybe DC vs Gus 2?

JJ vs gus, if anything, bit ** Please fully star swear words - EVH ** on aj to promise him a title fight against DC then snatch it away from him because Jon's became available

Condit really hasn't been the same since the knee injury in the Woodley fight. He has also been in a couple of wars so its not surprising he has lost a step. Really doesn't look like the fighter he used to be though :(

I don't think you can say he lost a step after that fight, to be fair to Condit I think Maia does that to the majority of the 170 pound division. Condit has good jiu jitsu but Maia (and Jacare) are on another level.

Petits and Paige looked good, I don't recall seeing a knockout at Strawweight before :D

I agree that once Maia gets the fight to the ground you're in a great deal of trouble, but he has often struggled in the past getting the fight to the ground. The fact that he stunned Condit, who has a granite chin with a shot before landing the takedown leads me to think that wear and tear is catching up with Carlos.
