Spec me a £1k pc build?

Yeah for the PSU mate, Evga and Superflower make higher quality components for the PSU's. The top end Corsair Ax series are good but obviously wouldn't be in your price range and tbh I would choose Evga or Superflower if building for myself or anyone else. I do currently have an Ax series but I won't use Corsair again.
Danny specced this earlier and its spot on https://www.overclockers.co.uk/supe...0-plus-gold-power-supply-black-ca-003-sf.html

The Corsair RMx and RMi are every bit as good as the EVGA G2/SF Leadex Gold units. There is no reason at all to avoid Corsair.

Wow I somehow spectacularly missed out the 6600k CPU, back to the drawing board unless you want to up the budget lol

I quite like this build! Ill throw in the CPU obviously, not an issue.

I was worried about those RAM cards though. I put them in my basket... But are they more of a visual gimmick? They look amazing, but how do they perform? I've read some reviews and they seem to hold up well.

Definitely get some green braided cables if you're going to have a windowed case. I would also be tempted to swap the two front fans with green LED fans.

Its really nice build, I love the choice of green components to be honest :)

The RAM is expensive for sure, you could go with something like this below at less than half the price, you would be hard pressed to notice any difference in the speed when gaming. I'm not sure how bright the RAM lighting is but with the LED strip light it might drown it out anyway?

Also green sleeved extensions and green LED fans would be cool as t-rex mentioned, if you want to take it a little further in the looks department :)

My plan is to swap out the stock fans for some green LED ones like you both suggested. I do also want to get some pre wrapped green cable extensions. Just working out all the ins and outs around them.... which ones do I need etc

So I have changed my mind.

It seems trying to match green up between the components might be harder than I thought, so have decided to go with a red theme.
I have also decided to try my hand at a custom CPU waterc ooled loop. My plan was to water cool in the future, but I have decided to start the ball rolling straight away with a simple CPU loop.
So, below is a new basket I have put together. Unless there is significant downfalls with some of the parts in it... this is what I am likely to stick with when I finally get all the money together :) Let me know what you think.

Bear in mind, I just want a capable PC to play a few games asap. I have no issue with upgrading/swapping out parts in the future. I want to be able to play Star Citizen at least, and this "build" looks to be more than capable.

Hello,

little update. Some plans I had for next year are no longer happening so I have upped my budget a little. I have changed the GPU.

My parents are happy to buy me my case for my birthday! So I've gone for the Thermaltake x71.
My partner is going to buy the MOBO for my birthday. The Gigabyte x170 Sniper. The green one haha.

I can get windows 10 from a friend so wont need to buy that, and the GPU has a promotion with a free PSU.

Therefore, I have decided to start the water cooling early.... below is my basket.

You want the 'K' version for overclocking. The Samsung PM961 is also the same price.

Also pretty sure the free psu is with the Gigabyte gpu only

Ah okay.... I'm still don't know much about overclocking.... I need to learn what it is and how to do it.

Also, you are correct, I added the wrong GPU to my basket. Thanks :)
