Just had a massive storm pass me, took about 15-20 mins to pass. Torrential rain, loads of lightning and ground shaking thunder! About bloody time!
Just passing over Lincs now....massive thunder clap rattled all the windows in their frames. Switched all pc's and server off a while ago
Very impressive thunder over Blackpool at some ungodly hour of the morning.
It was so loud it woke me up. Never heard anything like it.
Lightning's blown my Sky HD receiver last night, whilst I'm no longer a subscriber it's a nuisance because the local ITV channel for some inexplicable reason is soft encrypted & needs a videoguard device with sky card to decrypt.
I've got a Humax Freesat box but due to the soft encryption I get the wrong area at local news time.

A foggy start for many, though gradually clearing to leave another hot afternoon with sunny spells across much of England and Wales, although some may see an occasional thunderstorm too. However, remaining cloudy in the northwest with rain spreading east.
Some early evening sunshine, but with isolated thundery showers, these locally very heavy. Showers will merge into a more general area of rain in western counties, with the east drier, but cloudy and misty. Light variable winds.

Heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop more widely across central, southern and eastern parts of England during Thursday night and Friday morning, whilst rain spreading from the west may also turn locally heavy and thundery. This all moving eastwards during the course of the day, but not clearing East Anglia until evening.
Please be aware of the risk of disruption due to localised flooding and also from lightning strikes. This is an update to the Alert issued on Wednesday, to reduce the western extent.
