What have you done to your car today?

I could only dream of 40 mpg in my Evo, to get 30 mpg I'd have to sit at 60. Needless to say that the average seems to be about 25 mpg. Not bad for ~400 bhp though.

Got the front all painted up now. Does not look bad for a brush finish with off the shelf chalkboard paint!

I can get 40mpg on a motorway run at the speed limit out of my heavy old barge with its 2.0 turbo so I'd hope the engine in the TT will loosen up a bit :)

2.0 TFSI petrol 230ps, FWD and 0-62 mph in 5.9 seconds though it feels closer to 5s. 370nm of torque.

I too thought it would be better on fuel and to be fair it has progressively been getting a little bit better every month since I picked it up.

Although the last generation, I find my other half's TT horrendously inefficient.

Especially when I can get 34mpg out of a modern 5.5L V8 (albeit in eco mode on the motorway, still not bad though).

69.2MPG this morning, I'd like to swap it for something more fun and less efficient, but I cant bring myself to do it when whatever it is will likely get 30MPG less. :(

Thankfully I'm starting to settle into it for the time being. Its a good car, just not exciting.

you either want mpgz or fun..

so get a 2nd car if you want something for fun!

why don't you pick something like a mk2 mx5? bet you'd like it and it would be a good intro to RWD cars.

I think that A4 will actually look really good when its all painted up like that... Of course I think it also needs some BBS wheels and coilovers because I'm a massive stance scene fag deep down. :o

That was the plan, but then the Celica disaster happened. Think ill wait til renewal to get a decent deal on insurance for two cars. I was paying silly money before, and anything more interesting than the Celica (e.g 350Z) is even more daft. £250 a month for a 350Z and the Sloda on a multicar. Yeah no. At renewal I could get than for £170~ with someone else.

Whole thing needs to go blackboard now you've started :p Any usage from the kids yet?

Yup, will get it all done soon.

The boy calls it his racing car and we drew bonnet stripes the other day. Also he gets me to write Lamborghini on the back spoiler panel too :D

I also drew on the plate when I took it off to paint the bumper. It works quite well!

Bought a chavvy Z4 and need to now start undoing all of the changes to return it to something presentable - It's shut away in the garage for now until I've at least got standard wheels and the film off the front and rear lights.

And it's now back on stock wheels and tint film removed from front and rear lights :)

Edit: Apologies for awful photo quality! :)

That really is fantastic, props to you.

That's a huge improvement, looks great now!

Cheers. Few people have said they prefer the old wheels but I like the fact it looks like a smart standard car now. Just need to swap the exhaust with a standard item too and then can sort the smaller niggles :)
