The ROG Rampage V Edition 10 Owners Thread

Good to hear Cosimo.......won't be trying it until later in the weekend, but can you verify that Sonic Studio launcher works as well with the onboard audio ?
That was another issue that the DAC problem was the root cause of. No bother if not using the onboard - now that it's working, its best not to mess with it !

I don't use the onboard audio on mine.

Yep...looks as though Sonic Studio is still a no go, even though the DAC works (sounds decent, though not fantastic).
Dunno whether it's worth the hassle of uninstalling and reinstalling to try it out at this point.......back to the dedicated solution.
Shame, as I was interested to see how far along onboard audio has come.

Edit - display sleep bug is still present as well with the SupremeFX Hi-Fi service, so for me personally, not even having the DAC working is a positive. Hate leaving the monitor on all day or switching it off. Back to disabling it in device manager now.

Hey Cosimo , how did you get on with the Dominator rog editions , did they play ball at xmp ? , did you have to fiddle with the Sa voltages ?

Not going into sleep here so I probably take it out until it's fixed.

My Dom Plat ROG set goes straight into 3200 at XMP without any adjustments.

What red?

Only red I see on the board is the LAN and some USB ports which aren't all that visible when the system is in use ;)

I quite like the aesthetics of this board... but there is something quite nice about MSI's Titanium boards... I'm getting one of those for my wife's build - which is going to have a white/black/grey/blue theme.

Got the new rig in place now

1 day of running 1003 and the top PCI-E slot has killed itself.

Tried rolling back but the slot is dead... yey RMA :(

Stole the wife's MSI X99 Titanium to keep me going...

That is bad luck - but what caused it I wonder? Were you using the slot before?
Did it somehow short out? Have you looked closely with a magnifier at the slot - maybe some detritus causing a short?

No idea what happened.

I was using the computer OK for a while... that slot had my primary GPU.

I left the PC running overnight and in the morning there was no display output.

Tried rebooting... nothing.

I was worried it might be the GPU at first... but disabled the slot and plugged monitor into second GPU and all OK.

Then I tried another GPU in first slot and no output... and tried primary GPU in another motherboard and it worked straight away.

The only change I made to the PC was updating to Bios 1003.

I tried rolling back to 901 but it was too late. Don't know if it was directly related to the bios or something else. The slot and all pins appear perfectly fine.

Some power is getting through though as the fans span up on the extra GPU I was testing with.
