Who are your favourite non A list actor/actresses

Was having a chat with a friend the other day about actors we really liked who aren't movie leading A listers but probably deserved to be. My top 3 at the moment are in no real order:

Sharlto Copley - first saw him in District 9 and loved him in everything since.
Ben Foster - standout role for me is in Lone Survivor.
Ben Mendelsohn - Animal Kingdom was when i first noticed him, he's popping up all over the place these days.

While they've all had leading roles they aren't what you'd call absolute A list material. I'd automatically watch any movie with any 3 of the above in.

Who are yours?
 
Josh Holloway - always thought he was awesome in LOST, but appears to have disappeared off the face of the earth since it finished. In fact, almost all of them have...

Wouldn't mind seeing Damian Lewis in bigger roles.

One of my favourites who I've always thought of as a non A list actor is John Cusack (maybe not on the same level as some of the others posted here though?)
 
Michael Kennith Williams -- Brilliant in The Wire and Boardwalk Empire. I have no idea why we don't see him more often.

Nathan Fillion -- Marmite, but does "himself" brilliantly. Always cracks me up.

Sam Neill

Cillian Murphy (Arguably an A-Lister)

I think you've misunderstood the subject, Fillion IS the A list, the whole list.

Goggins also for sure.

So many others:

Jon Polito (RIP)
John Turturro
Stanley Tucci
Michael Parks

I could go on.

There's probably some good actresses out there too. ;)

No he isn't :confused: He's not a major movie star, nor is he paid a ridiculous amount of money for what he does in the film industry. Recently he's done some cameos, voices and did Castle.

Thought he was stunning in Black Sails, so went to see what else he's done and it's always an amazing performance... then I learned who his mum is and it all made sense!!

I wouldn't have qualified him as A-list, though. All the big films he was in, like Casino, Contact, The Specialist, he was never top billing. He headlined smaller stuff, like Vampires, Midnight Sting etc.

Yeah you're right, probably just mis-remembering because I really like him.
