PlayStation 4 Pro in-bound

Any word on if it will support higher than 2TB? It's been confirmed you can transfer from PS4 > PS4 using Ethernet which is good.

Only problem with that is I have a 2TB in my current PS4 and the Pro only comes with a 1TB.. my 2TB is almost full. Hoping we can use larger drives now.

There haven't been any new (<9mm) drives larger than 2TB released though

My son has a PS4 right now, and I'm wondering if there's a justification to upgrade to this Pro version? What's to be gained?

It seems every game from November onwards will have a pseudo-4K mode for people who use a 4K TV with HDR. (Not as good as native 4K but an improvement over 1080p.)

Otherwise if you are on a 1080p HDTV, then the improvements will vary on a per game basis. Some might have improved framerate, some might have extra graphical effects.

Cheers.

Barely seems worth it for him.

I think for people with 1080p displays, best bet is to play the waiting game and see what benefits it can bring.

I don't know how long devs have had access to the Pro SDK but I shouldn't think that many will have 'Pro' patches out on day 1, outside the big guns.

Has it been confirmed if it is still Sata 2 or 3? I cannot seem to find any information on it which makes me think it is still the same.

Think I'm finding it all a bit underwhelming if I'm honest.

So am I. A bit disappointed that they focused too much on 4K/HDR which I'm not at all interested in. They should have just gone for 1080p60 with better anti-aliasing and whathaveyou. I'm really considering just keeping my base PS4 now and building an i5/1060 PC.

They are probably getting the bare drives dirt cheap with the amount they are buying, also they may be taking a hit on the hardware hoping to recoup losses through software sales.

How can MS include a 4k blu ray player and sell the xbox for cheaper than a stand alone player.

IF they dont cater for full HD codecs then thats licensing they also dont have to pay that full decks will be required to, not to mention a lot of electronics that will already be inside the XBone so doesnt need to be duplicated.
