A lot of work for that money, even if it doesn't end up absolutely 100% in person

I am happy with it. There are a few little spots that aren't 100% but as you say given what I paid it's difficult to be upset. It was in a week and I stripped off the front and rear bumpers, indicators and light etc to get it ready for them. It looks easily 100% better than it did :)

Picked up some facelift xenon lights with bulbs and ballasts for the '39 off eBay. Described as fully working, which I'm sure they are, bar the incredible wobbliness which means only one thing - adjusters are smashed to pieces. Rattling plastic inside confirms that.

Contacted the seller saying I'd be happy to keep and repair them but they're not as described - got £20 back.

Have done 1 headlight so far, used a heat gun to warm the glue/sealant and pulled the lens off, replaced the adjusters (such a ludicrously brittle plastic, no wonder it's so common), and have now polished using 3M's kit (and have added chromed indicator bulbs):

By the time I'd bought the new adjusters and a the polishing kit the £20 was spent, but I'm now half way towards genuine facelift xenons. All for under £200 - so pretty happy with that!

So I just changed the discs and pads on my Focus. My knees are not designed for kneeling. Happy bunny that I managed it on my tod though as been years since I did any proper mechanics. :)

Swapped the throttle body over today for another known good unit so will run for a week or two and see whether it really was the old unit/integral sensor causing issues or if it's a wiring issue.

The Alto finally arrived :)

Taking pictures to get an ad ready on my white FN2..
Never thought I'd be selling it so quick and was even starting to put money towards forced induction but have been offered a very well-specced car considerably cheaper than market value, it pretty much has *everything* I would do to the car.

Pics soon... (Of the new one)

Is it that silver FN2 with the Rotrex and Sequential gearbox? :)

I bought towards the bottom of the market almost 6 years ago for about 16k. I have spent probably that again on issues and bringing it up to scratch.

If you want to keep the scuttle panel plastic, using something like CarPro DLUX would work too, however I do think dipping would be cool.

I am thinking I will just buy all of the kit to try hydro dipping myself, I have an old fish tank and water heater laying about so am half way there. The chemicals and film will set me back about £90 and I will be able to do quite a few bits of trim with it.

Worth a try I think and ill practice on some old dash pieces out of my old boxster first :)

It gets way too wordy too quickly

Keep the facts about number of owners, hpi, mot, history mods and specs in bullets right at the start then you can write a bit if you want.

Those who want to know the basics will have a 5 second read and decide if they're interested and those who want to know the story can entertain themselves too

I wouldn't care about you having had the oil changed recently etc unless it handnt been serviced by Honda properly (which it has) and a lot of the stuff about stickers, cleaning it etc etc are of no interest to me if it isnt the type of car I'm looking for - just to help rearrange it a bit
