what about the kriega tank strap? any good? I was thiking about getting that to use with one of my US10 and get 2 new US20s to make a US70 combo (30+2x20 instead of 30+2x10 that I have now)

They're not great as tank bags, imagine you're coming up to a border control or toll booth, you need to get your passport/ticket/credit card/money out, a normal tank bag it's just unzip whichever part of the bag the stuff is in, and it's there to hand. On a kreiga bag, you have to undo the 3 clips, unroll the top, then watch as everything falls out the single compartment, or you find that your passport is now beneath everything else... :p

The kreiga bags are great but not as tank bags.

Or plan ahead and put those items in the pocket that's on the front of all the US bags :p

They scratch the tank and are a pain to remove to fill up. Plus getting stuff in and out of them is a major faff.

Just realised it's 2 years ago to the day since I first sat on a bike, spent almost the whole of my CBT road ride dragging the rear brake because I didn't want to have my foot too far away from it :D

Just because you have lots of time at home in front of your PC, it doesn't mean I do. It's hard to edit from a phone outside of your country of residence ;)

Bingo! I'd do a review if I was at home, but in summary it's very good but not without its flaws.

Flaws:
- Release mechanism can get stuck after it rains a lot. A quick spray of WD40 fixes this.
- Waterproof cover can scratch tank due to the plastic cord grip flapping about in the wind. I have figured out a way around this.
- Expanding the bag loses rigidity so pack it full if you expand it. This has never been a problem, but could be if you bring just the wrong amount of stuff.
- Need a drill to set it up. Some girly men don't have a drill (I had to buy one).

Pros:
- Won't scratch your tank like every other bag out there, including the Givi tank ring mounts! That's the only pro I need, storage without scratching.

Edit: Second Pro:
- Doesn't fall off the bike even when you do.

The Givi XS307 tanklock I have doesn't suffer from any of those cons.

The Givi also comes with a waterproof cover, but I never found you needed it. I got caught in the worst rain I've ever ridden in earlier this year with it on and everything within the bag inside the Givi was perfectly dry. I suppose the cover is if you store stuff outside of the internal bag thing.

Yeah same with the Tuono, I'll get front and rear crash bungs but the only engine covers are these things...

I've been searching for engine covers and R&G ones are the only ones available for my husky... I know it shouldn't all be about looks, but they look awful :p

Unfortunately Givi don't make a ring for the Tuono, the tank ring has no bolt holes so needs a replacement ring with holes in it. SW-motech are the only one's who make one like this.

You could go for Ilmberger carbon covers? A bit more expensive if you drop it or come off, but it'd save the original covers.

Or when you do drop it or come off, just replace with carbon at that point :D

I can not even remember that far back what I do remember is the examiner was known to have a quota for the month on passes and fails I passed but he was a horrible ****.

Also the local police examiner would give the odd test my friend had him :D

or you know just open the zip compartment on the top, just like every other tank bag?

Had some fun filtering today. Going past some traffic that had been stationary for the 100m or so I'd been going down the side of it and some boob in a focus decides they've had enough so try and dart for the right turn they've been sat at.

Unfortunately it was at the exact point I was in line with the drivers door, luckily they stuck the indicator on a millisecond before they swung the car out so I could move just enough to clip their tyre with the edge of my boot leaving me with a sad little toe!

Those sort of moments are the ones that leave me feeling the most on edge, apart from not filtering there was nothing I done wrong it was all in the hands of someone else. If it's happened due to a **** up of some sort on my part then it's not so bad, at least it's under my control not to do it again.
