Sorry but the wind force cooler is fine, plus the superior warranty and support over that one you suggested. So check your facts beforehand.
You also haven't included any case fans which is needed.
Point taken regarding case fan. I wouldn't be recommending a £210 3GB 1060 though regardless of the 1 year extra warranty and support.
monitor is not needed but he is not comfortable building himself as first PC coming from console. so might need building cost added
not sure what the deal is with this i just told him to phone when hes got parts he needs ready to order and ask a price for build ?
or is there a better way ?
But you said the windforce cooler isnt very good, so back that up.
Same cooler on RX480. 1060 is a cooler running chip but shows the cooler isn't great, specially for the premium being charged.
The EVGA SC is cheaper, faster and cooler:
My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £210.49
(includes shipping: £10.50)
But regardless, I don't think the 3GB card is a good choice looking forward.
Yeah, I would stay away from that Gigabyte 1060 as well. In fact, I'd stay away from Gigabyte GPUs period.
And definitely tell your friend to man up and hit youtube, building a PC is dead simple. Paying £60 on his budget for that is foolhardy.
The Windforce and gaming are not the same coolers and the GPUs cant be compared.
OK just checked the Gigabyte website and you'tr right they are slightly different. Doesn't change that the Gigabyte one is overpriced they're both bad choices anyway with only 3GB VRAM.
