What film did you watch last night?

Also just back from Magnificient Seven, would give it a 7/10 , was a good old fashioned style western. Glad to see the original theme used at the end credits. Would be happy to see a sequel. Would love it to do well at the box office and kickstart the western genre but I fear that cinemagoers are so obsessed with superhero films now that I dont think it will do brilliantly at the box office.

I wish super heroes would die, there's a sever lack of other genres of films out at the moment.

That's not exactly true, sure it is popular but there are a lot of genres out there.

Tonight I watched Nightcrawler (granted it is a couple of years old).

I could have watched Room, I watch Kubo and the Two Strings last week which was brilliant, I watched Bad Moms which was also great, before that I watched the Neon Demon which is very original but also can be marmite to many

The Girl with all the Gifts. - decent production a ok cast and enjoyable once off if you like zombie genre.. 7/10.

The Magnificent Seven - Great cast and pretty enjoyable movie. I personally like the diversity so didn't know what the fuss was about. Denzil was solid as always. Same director as the new Equaliser movie. 9/10

Train to Busan - ground zero end of the world Zombie '"Korean" movie. Probably one of the best if not the best movie of this genre imo. Makes The Walking Dead look like a walk in the park. 10/10. The is what Fear the Walking Dead should have been like.

The Prestige - 4/5

Solid 5/5 and one of the best films I had ever seen on first viewing but loses a lot on subsequent viewings. Bale and Jackman remain as superb as ever though.

Child 44. Tom Hardy does a Russian accent and hunts a child killer in post WWII Russia. A bit meh really. Grim and grimy, but the plot was a bit of a mess.

The Conjuring 2 - absolutely pants, apart from the initial nun style spook everything else was tacky, poor and the acting was as wooden as usual from these poor horrors. 2/10

I don't think I'll ever see another proper scary horror again. They juat don't seem to make chilling horror any more. It's all paint by numbers monsters and cgi ghosts.

Straight Outta Compton.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. I read some reviews on IMDB and its almost like they were trolling me because I thought it was great.

ARQ 6/10 - if it were indie it woulda gotten a higher score. Netflix went too cookie cutter on this one. I was gripped all the way through to the point where I noticed how much I was enjoying this film despite its low budget feel. Then the ending.

Warcraft 7/10 - could have been so much worse. Really enjoyed the lore although it felt too distant from the universe on occasion. I can appreciate how others would feel there was too much. It needed a more definitive ending. Cash cows were mooing during the credits.

Captain America Civil War 6/10 - Enjoyable romp in the marvel universe, nothing more.
