gonna give up riding :(

once my fingers healed, will get the car license sorted and get a car.

might put some money aside though and in a year or two get a track bike.
Don't be a wuss...

We'll make sure your access to this part of the forum is removed if you give up biking :p
+1 :p

Track riding sounds like a great (expensive) hobby though.

If only trackdays weren't so expensive...

Buy yourself a Micra or something, put the bike in the shed and keep it for weekends / pleasure. Use the Micra for commuting as it's much, much safer.

Then sit in traffic in your Micra for an hour when the journey used to take 15 minutes.

You'll start riding again then :p

Just threw my helmet on with my shirt and trousers to pick up my bike from the garage, I can now see why some people ride in no kit.
It's only a 20 second 150m ride back to the office but it was much nicer than being all kitted up.

Don't give up biking, give up commuting on a bike. You work stupid shifts and half the time you get on your bike you're a zombie liable to stupid mistakes, as you've now experienced. When I did nights, driving home was always crap as you're never 100% there and neither are most of the people on the roads, it's dangerous. On top of that you ride one of the most powerful bikes in the world (or at least when it was launched), it's a recipe for trouble.

I'm pretty much doing this this year, particularly through winter when it gets dark at 4pm (although not in something as crap as a Micra :p).

I prefer my bike for fun, or commuting in nice weather. It just doesn't appeal to me to use my bike as a tool. It's a toy that I like to play with and shine, not a tool :)

That being said, first time today commuting in my car. I missed my bike :(. Will probably take the bike tomorrow, weather looks good.

No arrow system today, still in the Coventry depot, been there since Thursday. Sadly can't collect this week and they've told me any day before Thursday.

Haha just turned up! :D

It keeps going black outside and looking like it's going to pee it down, I don't want to spend my first ride on yet another brand new tyre in a torrential downpour like last time

In the last 5 minutes the sky has literally turned ink black, Met office still says no rain though for once they better be right.
