Fuel

My old man rides old bikes. When I used to ride pillion, on a long trip he would occasionally pull over, take the fuel cap off and stare in the hole while swaying the bike from side to side to see how much fuel was left. :D

Haha that was my method too, or just holding the front brake and pushing it back and forth, if you can't hear swishing you're close to trouble.

These days I'm filling whenever I'm close to a Shell and below half, as I don't really go near Shells on my daily driving etc. It's quite out the way.

Only if V Power or Momentum is available. Otherwise I just push it everywhere.

Dont want momentum mrk m8, we have established that it has too much ethanol!
We didnt.

We concluded Momentum contains ethanol and Vpower more or less contains some ethanol upto 5%.

Anything car from the last 20 years at least is going to be fine, in fact for the points I made further up a fuel containing ethanol will yield marginally worse fuel economy, and made marginal increases in power

I just fill it when i get near to an empty tank. Often have to plan ahead a little bit as my journey's are 100mile+ rather than just the odd trip around town for example.

Fill tank, use full tank, rinse repeat. Makes my life easier. Filling up a tenner every few days sounds like an absolute ballache to me :(

I stopped at a BP... decided i would treat the car to 15L of Super Diesel for fun...

FIlled her up, managed to fit 25L, though oh well only 10p more per L.

Went to till and it was £1.42 PER BLOODY L!??!?!

thats 32P MORE PER L...

I was NOT pleased and i told the bloke at the till about it, he just sat there all smug and said "should have looked at the pump better then m9".

Oh well.... £8 more for 25L... Crazy

What did you expect him to do? Offer it to you at whatever price you felt was acceptable?

run it till it has 10-20 miles remaining and fill it up to full, do the same when needed.

only exception is if I know I have a long journey ahead, I do then fill up to till full even if it's half full.
