What have you done to your car today?

You wont lose your NCD and you wont have to put it down as a past claim when getting new insurance though.

I think the plan may be ask the insurance company to treat it as a reported incident only for now. Get a quote from my preferred body shop (possibly more than one quote) and then decide whether to process it as a claim.

I was planning on getting my alloy wheels refurbed there anyway (corrosion bubbles and laquer flaking). Could pay to get that done while they have the car.

NCD makes nowhere near as much difference as people think - full NCD but a fault accident on record is still going to make the premium go up.

oh I'm sure you can spin out both no issues, any RWD car to be fair.

350z doesn't have such bad press in regards to snap oversteer though.

S2K is very much on my to own list but is my foot light enough to keep it in line? ;)

350z is very progressive, but... it is heavy, so if you don't catch it it does bite. I've taken a few people out in it here where I've done a bit of sideways action and it's all very controllable. I don't push it hard at all in the wet though as it does like to shake its booty.

Lots of torque, fat tyres in the rain will do that - in the dry though you have to be ham fisted to get yourself into trouble, or going way too fast.

Add a non viscous LSD and you're laughing, it's so predictable, and controllable when you do slide that it gives a lot more confidence.

But if he doesn't go through with the claim, it doesn't have to be declared when getting future quotes.

Don't some ask if you've had any accidents regardless of claim now? The way insurance is going up and up I would only contact them as a last resort these days.Any excuse to load a premium. It's such a scam.

Yes it does. They don't ask if you've made any claims, they ask if you've had accidents. And as soon as you call them to report it, it's noted.

confirms a lot of what I've been reading which is what makes me lean towards it.

I have a feeling that as long as I keep my self aware of the fact that it is a 300bhp rwd coupe, I'll be fine!

first few months take it easy, learn the car and how it behaves and maybe even take it to a couple of skid days/track days to see when it snaps/gives up on me.

guess all the bad press around s2k had me worried but I see women with little to no idea of how car behaves driving them so I think I'll be alright in one too.

we'll see what pops up for sale early next year!

It is. :D

The 270~HP engine is the best one to go for I think? Quite easy to get another 15HP or so out of it with intake/plenum spacer and exhaust.

OK but you can put it as '£0 - no claim made' which must make a difference.

The amount of the claim actually makes very little difference. A friend of mine went into the back of a car on a motorway at low speed but with the various damage / injury claims resulting from it she forgot after a few years the total amount of the claim. When she was shopping for insurance she found most weren't interested in the amount, they just wanted to know when it was and if it was her fault or not.
