What should the OP do?

I agree, and this is probably how I'd word it but why not raise it to their attention and ask for a solution? Some people would simply raise it and be surprised that the garage offers nothing more than a "we'll speak to the chap kthnxbye".

Why should they be surprised? If the car is not damaged, then the garage owe's them nothing further. I know that probably hurts some people's sense of entitlement however "wont anyone think of meeeeee"

Last I checked I don't remember there being a clause stating that there is to be any compensation in such a situation where the vehicle was not damaged"

That said, if the garage is smart then they will offer something to help you out to keep you coming back.

If the idea of a solution is to get the dude fired by bringing it up and wanting a free service to make you feel better, then you guessed it...that's petty :D

I was honestly expecting a video similar to a previous thread which really was bad. This is very tame in comparison to the other thread a while back.

Just looked like standard driving to me.. Albeit with a bit of a blast. Its not like he was doing donuts in McDonalds car park and racing police or anything! I'd just leave it and move on.

It looks like a bit of road rage in that video, the Fiesta in that video is the bigger prat and maybe the person driving the Golf got fed up and took the bait - not that I am excusing their behaviour. It's not that bad really. Doing 80 in a car that can do twice that is a bit of a non event.

I blame the OP for trusting some strangers to drive his or her car. No way I'm letting anyone else drive my car.... Be they friend, foe or stranger. Not one soul.

How do you stop them when they take it in for a service?

How can you blame the OP? Such a strange comment.

As they are coming up the dual carriageway the Golf passes a car on the left and then slows to below the 50 limit. I'm guessing the Fiesta was up his backside and he slowed to annoy him. Once they had both passed the car on the left the Fiesta undertakes him. Just my guess anyway as I'm unsure why he'd accelerate to 70ish and then slow right down to below 50.

It's really interesting to see the difference of opinion on this and it mirrors how people I've shown the video to have reacted.

I had no intention of doing anything about it (and still don't) but then others said I should as he's probably doing it with other owners' cars and it might only be a matter of time before he hurts himself or someone else.

Op that isn't ragging a car. He had a spirited run at some points. Yes he shouldn't have done it and stick to the speed limit. Although in all honesty who would if it's a golf r? Sounds like a young chap judging by the music.

I'd definitely be mentioning it to the garage for the limit breaking. And the crap music tbh...

I'd just report to the garage and expect a free decent service, I wouldn't go as far to have him sacked I'd just want him *******ed for it and that be it. It is unprofessional and that is the reason why I'd do this at the end of the day if I had something as nice as that I'd drive it harder than that, he did tailgate the hell out of the Fiesta though.

he let the Fiesta shoot off at the end of the vid, he wasn't really racing it plus he wasn't really driving it that fast was he.

Blimey, if that's ragging it and having a traffic light grand prix then some of you had best not ever set foot in a car with me!

It's hard to forget that some posters here have no idea what genuinely sporty even is, which is kinda dangerous when your asking for tyre recomendations and someone who thinks this is "ragged" says "oh these tyres are the best performers for the money!" when they have never even been near 50% of the road limit.

Know your posters. Take advice from proven individuals only.

Person takes customers car, drives outside of legal limits.

a) Report to police to ensure you're not 'identified as the driver'.
b) Report to the dealership - your car, you're the customer and you are right.
