What have you done to your car today?

Just do it, and accept that you will have an incident at some point with it (thats how you learn), unless you plan to drive it like an upstanding citizen everywhere you go.

I too went straight to a RWD and have no major issues with it
I still remember you turned onto that road and carrying a slide in the wet :p

You hooligan :D

Why not just take it on a skidpan or get skidpan tuition before you buy it? Or something similar so you know how to avoid it, how to find the limits, and what to expect and how to deal with it when you find and exceed that limit.

You are also over thinking it too... I learned how to drive in a RWD car and never had an issue.

that's the plan! get some training once I get the car or take it to a track or private ;) parking lot to see where the limits are in wet weather.

haha, fair enough! I'll just man up I guess ;)

Took longer than expected, **** you rusty bolts/clips, but:

New Radiator - old one was an advisory for leaking, not to mention looked like it had been subject to some rad weld type stuff at some point already
New Thermostat
Easy coolant flush as the stat was out, new stuff in. Warmed up and leak checked, so far so good.
New Wheels and tyres, old ones stored until I can budget a refurb.
Dinitrol Rust converter in the inner sills and any other chassis hole I could find.

Rusty bolts/clips aside this is the first "real" job I have done on my MX5 and it wasn't bad, so easy to get at everything (apart from under it, need a better jack).

Tomorrows jobs:

ACF50 into the cavities, since I am probably doing a half arsed job of it I did not want to introduce wax the equation, so no cavity wax this year.
Double check for leaks, ensure stat gasket is sealing properly.
Give it a wash, rain permitting.

People go out in the wet in a RWD car!?

My Porsche will NEVER see wet! lol

The engine is so clean it's never seen rain as it is I don't think! lol

Is that a challenge?! Milne has seen rain; sleet and snow, yet I would bet 50p that my engine bay and undercarriage are cleaner than your Porsche :p

Man up!
