US: **The Walking Dead Season 7 - Contains Spoilers - No future content to be discussed **

That episode was brutal and brilliant. By far the best episode yet. Going to be a painful few seasons before Negan gets it.

Looks like the walkers will die off soon.

Was a magnificent episode, I've watched some amazing tv in my time but nothing has ever gripped me as much as that episode of walking dead. I thought they copped out when ginger duke nukem bit the bullet and felt a little underwhelmed then all of a sudden

I know it's cool to hate on the walking dead these days but it is easily up there amongst the best tv around today.

I may have missed it elsewhere in the thread but how the **** did the axe get on the roof? Me and the missus have decided boomerang axe and are eagerly awaiting future mind bending moves! :p

Got to be honest but I'm not sure I enjoyed the episode. Glenn moment was rather awkward watching. I just don't see the need to have waited so long for such predictable event (though comic spoilers did impact this for me). The whole episode played out like the end of season not the first of a new season.

Tell me about it - I swear you hear Negan throw the axe and it land on the ground outside ... so how one ended up being left on the roof I don't know!!

Vid's been removed, but damn, watching that would be awful!

Transcript from a Reddit user.

Negan - "it"
Glenn - "no no no Maggie"
N - "anybody moves, anybody says anything, cut the boy's other eye out and feed it to his father and then we'll start. You can breathe, you can blink, you can cry, hell, you're all gunna be doing that"
Negan hits Maggie.
N - "Oh, look at that! Takin' it like a champ!"
Maggie spits at him, I think, then Negan hits her again.

Yeah Maggie would have been even more devastating especially since she was pregnant and Negan knew this.

Iirc, she somewhat leaves the group to join the hilltop group.

I think it was good that one of the longstanding characters died, otherwise it simply would not have had much impact. The ginger head dude was mostly cannon fodder anyway, his death would have not mattered all that much to fans of the show. Despite this, I'm sad to see Glenn go. He was a largely likable character.

Also, having not read the comics, I actually thought Negan was pretty reasonable with them, considering what the group had done. He is obviously extremely violent, but he at least seems to follow some sort of code.

Just watched the bit when Negan throws the axe out the door again and he leans a little through the doorway and slings it onto the roof, you even hear it land up there.

That was a really brutal episode, unnecessarily so I thought, notwithstanding all the brutal crap that has gone on before that was a bit too much. The Eugene kill was plenty, but the way Glenn was talking after being bashed a couple of times was overly gross for the sake of being shocking. Very captivating viewing but a bit hard to see how the group can ever get re-revenge after that!

And how come JDM's rifle works on zombies like a minigun :p

When they eventually get revenge on Negan, I can see it being an immensely satisfying moment. I hope Rick gets to cave his skull in and we just get a whole 60 minutes of him repeatedly hitting him :p

Just watched that Maggie video, that would have been dark if they stuck with that!

I must be the only one who didn't think that episode was great. Maybe I was distracted during it or something, but it felt contrived.

Do you mean Abraham? Eugene is the one with the mullet that was crying and messing himself!

It seems like people have a bit of a cliff edge tolerance with regards to violence, if everything up till now in the Walking Dead was fine but all of a sudden this was too much.

Negans my new fave charactor. Liked him in the comics, hes a bit more sweary in them though.

I've not read the comics at all but "Negans" arrival and character struck me as being the first that felt like introduction of a comic book villain. It was a full-on episode that was gripping and uncomfortable to watch at times, a great series starter.

I'm sure Negan will turn out to be a great character that we all love to hate at his character unfolds. I get that his introduction was supposed to be dramatic and brutal, with the emphasis on breaking Rick and the group. But there was a little too much drama queen, show-boating for a first appearance for my taste. Don't get me wrong, great show, with some interesting possibilities from here on. But I think Negan could have been as brutal if not more without the ott theatrics. Then again there's ott and just pain mental.

Cracking start to the series though.

Show a little eyeball and everyone loses their **** :p

Suppose only surprise is that they went for two characters, not one. Axe in this episode was clearly a tease as I expected Rick to lose his hand at a few points but guess after killing two of his very useful group members, it would have been a little too much in terms of destroying the effectiveness of the group.

I only tuned in to see what the deal is and that's the problem of where the show is at now, it no longer (did it ever?) needs to tell us a good story to make people tune in, in some cases it's simple curiosity.

It was really cheap what they did last season as they've spent most of the it building up Negan only to have a cliffhanger like that. Only purpose that serves is punish its audience and detract the attention from poor story arcs. It's as if at this point they know that people only come back to see if there any improvements and like a car crash we just can't help ourselves and look.

Still a lot of people seem to enjoy it so what do I know, for me though it's just a show that I might watch now if I have spare time but definitely not going to miss if I don't watch it.
