I told myself that the Porsche was way too expensive when it came out and I wouldn't buy it. But at £208 with shipping from amazon it's €100 under retail on this side of the Channel. €230 v €330 on Lego!I was buying my self the new Lego Technic Claas and the Volvo for Christmas and spotted the Porsche on Amazon at £200, that was hard not pressing buy on it at that price...
Already got the 24 hr racer. Waiting for the Fire Station to be on sale but I doubt it ever will. Pushing €400 over hereWent with the 24 hour racer instead of the Porsche. Looks better imo and I can't justify the £200 right now with some expensive weekends ahead!
Yeah I agree. I doubt I'll build it. I'll just add it to the other sets collecting dust in their boxes bought at very good prices (Arocs, Bucketwheel Excavator, original Death Star). The Porsche is stupidly overpriced for what it is anyway. I've seen it in the flesh and it's certainly an impressive set, but it just looks wrong. Lego isn't suited to rounded models and the Porsche is as round as it gets. On top of that, all the marvellous engineering gets hidden under the body so unless you've built it, it just looks like a Porsche with steering.
Such a shame.
(This is how I justify not buying it anyway)
