**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

Thanks all. I've ended up just using the Samsung Browser with the AdBlock Plus extension. Added bonus is I discovered you can even get the Samsung Browser to sync all your Chrome bookmarks using a Chrome Desktop extension called Samsung Sync!

It's actually a really good browser too. Very fast. That and the fact it now blocks ads is spot on. I use Firefox too now so I can listen to YouTube videos while it runs in background (only Browser I've found that can do this trick).

cant get samsung browser to sync any ideas how to get it to work? it doesnt show my bookmarks or my s7 edge

Make sure you enable Internet Sync under Accounts > Samsung in the Android settings. It was off for me at first.

Then log into your Samsung account on the desktop extension and hit the sync button. Once I did it all my bookmarks popped up in the Bookmarks tab of the Samsung Browser.

Has anyone had their S7 encrypted? Ie maybe if you've set up your work exchange account and encryption is mandatory.

If so is their any performance effect on the phone?

Depending on the application used (ie Mobile Iron or whatever) that does the security for the work email, it may not actually encrypt the whole phone.

Ive seen it previously where it does this on the fly within a secure application "envelope" on the hardware, and it expands as is required. So the rest of the phone remains un-encryped, but everything within the app is secure.

(Used to work for a large high street bank, and this is certainly how it worked previously, although it is dependant on security software used). With this method there was absolute no performance loss at all

My s7e runs cool pretty much all the time, however my missus s7e gets extremely warm during normal use, warmer than if it was on a fast charge

Battery usage shows nothing weird and battery life is pretty good, anyone had this issue of a toasty s7e during normal use?

She keeps screen at 100%, would this be enough to cause this?

Mine gets warm wireless charging

In normal use it doesn't get warm and I have screen at 100% - auto is turned off

Gaming it does heat up due to 100% screen more so

Only picked mine up today when swapping on the note 7 and already tried popping it out..

I did that few times 1st couple of days when I wanted to write a note or screen capture :(:(

Roll on August 2017 for the Note 8 (pretty please)

After noticing a few micro scratches on screen I decided to try a screen protector again, after reading people talking about the yootech wet applied ones picked on up, installed last night and put my sim into another handset, inititally I wasn't all that impressed, woke up this morning and there were still a couple of bubbles which I could only presume were caused by a spec of dust id left on the screen but now its pretty much perfect, so anyone looking for a screen protector the yootech gets a big thumbs up from me.

Anyone else having issue with mobile data completely dropping off, toggling airplane mode makes no difference so I have to reboot the phone. Only happened twice in two weeks but still annoying.

I've had it happen a few times. My Nexus 5 did the same thing and the airplane mode trick worked, however only a reboot seems to work on the S7

I do have a dual sim version and I did wonder if that might cause a conflict, but I assume you have a single sim card.

Single SIM and a SD card in the other slot. I've cleared the cache partition, is there any way of clearing the network settings like you can on an iPhone?

Yep, go into Backup & Reset, under the Reset section there will be a "Reset Networking Settings" option.

So this is an issue with the phone, I have been blaming EE for it. Even when I have a full 4G signal I get no data signal at all sometimes and I have to reboot the phone to get it working.

May give the Samsung browser of it supports adblock. Firefox isn't exactly quick

What's not quick about it? I genuinely don't see any slowness issues with it, that's with 4 extensions installed (one of which is uBlock Origin). It's also running sync with Firefox on the PC/tablet/laptop.
