Apple to Introduce New Macs at October 27 Event

But plenty are still going to get one.

It happens every iteration really, we all did the same with the iPhone but still people bought them.

Times are a bit different now though (at least for us in the uk) financially - suddenly our money is somewhat less a given and Joe public will probably think twice about luxury items. Guess we'll see.

Do you think it's worth buying a 2015 MBP? I'm in need of a new laptop (my current one can't even close its lid.....), wanted a MBP for years but can't justify this price.

You'd think the older gen is worth the price, but they're not even using one generation old CPUs but even older.

Photographers will be delighted.

Also weird removing one of their most innovative and functional features in the MagSafe. That's really retrograde.

I imagine anyone running the old trashcan Mac Pro must have completely written off Apple after tonight. Not a single mention of any other macs.

They better switch the iPhone to USB-C next year. It's ludicrous having all these different ports.

Touchbar looks a bit gimmicky. Might be okay in pro applications with practice, but tbh I navigate the keyboard and touchpad just fine without taking my eyes off the screen. Not sure I want another screen below my screen.

Doubt I'll be upgrading my Mid 2012 512GB 16GB machine any time soon with those bonkers prices.

£1900 for the entry level 15" model!! Are they having a laugh?

I've also noticed Mac Pro's do not hold their value like the iMac's and portables.

I have to say I love my SD card slots for the iMac still. I hardly use my card reader, it's in the drawer 99% of the time.

My brother used to swear by Macs, using them in his trade of editing, but lost faith after they ditched the 17" MBP and replaced Final Cut Pro with Final Cut Pro X (which is lacking features essential for his work).

I fear with this new line-up of MBPs they may be alienating more of their previously fervent supporters.

£360 extra to upgrade from a 500gb to 1tb SSD!

Over 1k for a 2tb SSD!

The price difference between a retail Samsung 850 Evo 500gb SSD and their 1Tb drive is only £90 on Overclockers UK.

The Samsung 2tb 850's are £619 retail

What the hell are Apple SSD's made of? Unicorn droppings or something?!!?

Whilst nice designs, only the terminally gullible will fall for these price hikes.

Me neither - gutted because I probs my would have bought in at £1,400 with touch bar.

I can afford it without having to be careful of cash at £1,750 but I'm not so rich that I can just overlook that it's £350 more than I think it's worth. That's probably a month's net salary for a lot of people - jeez.

The 3.5mm jack on Macs is not just headphones. It's digital audio in and out as well. I can't see that going for some considerable time.

In the spec it is only called a headphone jack and has no mention of digital in/out like on the iMac specs.

ridiculously expensive. I'm still running my 2009 15" macbook pro and a 2011 27" imac. Both have been upgraded to SSDs.

I sincerely doubt i'll be getting macs again as and when i have to upgrade.
