Your Gaming TV!

ShimmyHill, go and see a DX902 with proper source being pushed through it. You'll see that this is the best Panasonic has done on an LED the blacks are pretty much the same as plasma with far more accurate colours and now at the price of £2800 it's the best bang for buck by far.

I have seen a calibrated one and it was great, 4k + HDR obv is stunning but for 90% of what I use my telly for I prefer my plasma - real issue was there was a setup ZT65 in the room and I came away wanting that

As a big LCD knocker I have to say the 902 and the top end Sasmung I saw were impressive, I still think I will wait for an OLED to surpass everything plasma does better than LCD still but yeah, cracking set :)

Current is a Sony W705 42" (1080p and low lag) - If I didn't want bigger I wouldnt upgrade for my current viewing habits

It's a great TV but as I want bigger when I move into my house (sat ~14 feet away) I'll be looking to upgrade to ~60-65" at that point.

Is it possible to get a 60-65" TV, 4K, UHD (10 bit) for ~1-1.5k? (The bigger the panel, the better IMO!)

I'd still argue the KS8000 is the better buy at £800 less (and more)

It may be edge lit rather than FALD but there's not much in it. The panasonic screen is like a bloody mirror as well. Too reflective.

Agreed it's stupidly reflective but saying there is not much in it.... Specsavers comes to mind. The difference when watching Bluray and HDR is night and day. The biggest issue with Samsung is that they are so far behind Panasonic and Sony in terms of colour accuracy it's crazy.

Samsung is like a magpie in a shop, looks really vivid but very inaccurate.

Can't really argue with that. The DX902 really needs high quality source to sing but when it does for the money it's amazing

My gaming TV is an Asus MG279Q ...in other words a monitor. I beat the QC potholes and the RMA I got back from Asus works a dream. I currently don't see the point in buying a TV, due to the prices of screens that actually are worth getting (i.e. large, with 4k resolution and HDR, etc).

Let them become more reasonable to buy and then I'll think about getting a TV. Even then... it still can't get FreeSync/G-Sync and high refresh rate, I've never heard of a TV go above 60fps. A fancy new TV alone won't make the likes of Bloodborne look or run much better.

£600 max. And I won't be buying for a while since I only just got this monitor and now no longer have room (2nd monitor is same size and still around).

I got my 65" Sony 4k 3d for under £1200 last Christmas sale(amazon), retails for £2500. It's the best TV I've had, not just the picture, but the options to configure etc. plus you can use a ps4 pad on it and join playstation now if you fancy playing ps3 games. Android is the OS, meaning emulators, games, kodi etc. it has 8gb storage. It has got the best OS.

It's slim so the speakers aren't very good, but optical output is Dolby/DTS if you have a soundbar.

EDIT: If you get 2 pairs of the 3d glasses and play a split screen game with someone each of you will see a full screen for your person/car etc.

I picked up a 55" LG910v (OLED) that had been professionally calibrated from Avforums for £900. I'm very happy with it indeed, the panel is perfect for me. Input lag is very low and the colours are amazing.
I'm curious about HDR and 4k, but I think I will wait a couple of generations before taking the plunge.

It's been a rumour for a while that Sony will pull out of the TV business. They have slowed production and have less models out now. They also now outsource a lot of the manufacturing. Their sales have been very low so it could happen..... ?

Well anything could happen, but they've nailed the operating system on their new TVs, they allow you to play android games, ps3 games, emulators all through the TV and have made them more affordable and kept the quality is high.

If you don't get an android TV you are missing out bigtime, plus if you want easy access to ps3 games go Sony, we are gamers after all!

Some Blaupunkt 40/42" model, I've been somewhat underwhelmed with it's performance though in games such as Driveclub and Witcher 3 which are supposed to be visually impressive.

Or is it because I'm too used too PC gaming? Although I wasn't gaming frequently on PC anyway and only have a 7870 which has been dead for a few months.

Is it possible to get a decent budget 4k HDR tv.

I have a 40 inch samsung which i am happy with and a DELL S2716DG.

But i am getting a ps pro so i think a 4k tv is on the cards but it will only mostly be used for gaming and the odd bit of 4k content.

Samsung 65JS9000. Incredible TV, great for gaming as low input lag.

4K, HDR 10Bit, etc etc. The only negative is that the OS is a bit laggy at times.

Samsung ue48hu7500,just realised i have owned it for 2 years this month.
Is it any good,i'm not a tv guru, but i,and everyone who see's it loves it.
Let me know what you guy's think,i'm not bothered about negative comment's,at 62 i'm not about to buy another(barring a mega deal, haha).

If 1080p is okay for you great, it will do 60fps so a great experience. If there was a problem with input lag you would have noticed by now. 4k is good for Netflix, for what content there is, not much, but consoles won't pump out fantastic(graphics wise) game in 4k for some time.

I'm a gadget person with disposable income hence my prolific buying of TVs!(and anything else related to gaming!).

Really? What tv is that? You sure it's 4k 10 bit?

Ive never been too bothered about 3d if I'm honest!

It was a pain luckily Currys were quite helpful which was not expected. They are only held together with tape so the rear panel separates. They have used stronger tape on the newer ones so so far my latest one has been ok.

It's a pain but the picture more than makes up for it....:)

They're not likely to fall apart while on the wall are they as that's where I'd be putting mine

Wanted a 4K monitor when i bought my 55 JU6400 and for around £680 in Jan it was a no brainer.

Already have a AOC 34" 1440p 21:9 monitor, did have a Panny UT50 50" at the time so it was 55" only, couldn't go bigger due to space in my bedroom.

Did plenty of "research" into it, ticked all the right boxes for gaming, PC (and PS4 now) low input lag, next to motion blur at all and of course, the price.

Did have to buy 2 different lengths of HDMI cables as 7.5m was too long to get full 4:4:4 chroma 60hz at 4K and 5m just about crosses under my bed from my PC to my TV to get it.

Have to turn my PC case backwards to get it to reach though. :D

As crap as the game was, the speeder bike level on Star Wars Battlefront in 4K (on PC ofc) was worth the £10 i paid for it :D

android best os???

thr major downside to sony has been android os and its buggy slow implementation of it.

lg's web os is silky smooth. also android on sonys gets bloated. i have a sony tv with it and its the only downside to the tv. i prefer to use an amazon 4k tv box.

I told you this earlier in the year after I owned and returned two of them but you were adamant they'd fixed all the issues.

Fully agree that LG's webOS is the best of the lot though, although Samsung probably wins in terms of sheer app support. Even my older model still gets app and software updates.
