What watch do you wear?

1970s Tissot I bought as NOS a few years back.

I thought you already decided on the Seamaster?

I've been umming and ahhing like a mutha. The problem with the SM is that I see them around all the time. I want to buy a watch that isn't so common, and yet fits my requirements of being excellent Swiss watch with heritage that I feel pride wearing on my arm. The Pelagos really seems to fit that bill for me, with the caveat that I know it will not dress to every occasion. The black version would, but it just doesn't speak to me like the gorgous blue does.

Me too. I've had a titanium watch before and the way it scratches worries me about the Pelagos.

All bracelets scratch, and I think the titanium would oxidise pretty quickly, with the scratches not being so noticeable with the matt finish. Plus you can use the rubber strap whenever you know you will be doing any activity like swimming or diving etc.

My titanium bracelet has a few scratches on it, but nothing that stands out.

It's really nothing to worry about.

Well I had jitters and cancelled my order of a Mondaine, and went for a Bering instead. Very pleased with it - Quartz movement and Sapphire face for £110 delivered. There's not much out there on the internet about Bering (it's a Danish brand), but I really like the simplicity of the face, and with the sapphire glass it really feels like a quality product and hopefully won't scratch to **** like my last watch.

Fitted with a blue Di Modell strap from Watch Obsession - thanks to GeezerButler for the shop suggestion, there are some lovely straps on that site. For me, it's transformed a rather plain looking watch into something I find pleasing to look at.

Some of their watches look like Skagens, same brand?

Hi guys, two quick questions:

- Where is the best place to sell my Seiko Cocktail Time? Comes with all papers/box and is in mint condition.

- Where is the best place to buy a Omega Seamaster on Finance? I'm looking for the old wave dial version.

Thanks :)

Seiko Cocktail Time. Lovely watch. A classic.

While I would not personally out of personal preference buy one of these watches, I have a lot of respect for them and I would say that Seiko has more heritage than any of the "boutique" shops like Christopher Ward and Steinhart et al that peddle their "Swiss made" wares, in fact having been in business since 1881 they have more heritage than some of the traditional Swiss watch makers too! Plus, Bond wore them in the 70's and 80's way before Omega became cool.
