***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

The Porsche is stupidly overpriced for what it is anyway. I've seen it in the flesh and it's certainly an impressive set, but it just looks wrong. Lego isn't suited to rounded models and the Porsche is as round as it gets. On top of that, all the marvellous engineering gets hidden under the body so unless you've built it, it just looks like a Porsche with steering.

Such a shame.

(This is how I justify not buying it anyway :p)

That's my other thing with it - stunning in orange but the angles just don't work for me!

Think I'll go for the Crawler Crane next! :D

I built the Caterham yesterday, was bored and figured it's small enough that it can just be put back in it's box pretty much fully built, for when I move house.

This is the equivalent of the Firehouse with a €10 discount and the Caterham thrown in for free.
Thank you Brexit!

I don't plan on building the Porsche either due to some rubber parts which when used, will deteriorate and I can't be bothered to take it apart to replace it.

I do like the Sydney Opera House though but that's soooooo big and I rather get the Firehouse for that kind of money.

So at Brick yesterday in the NEC I bought the Yelow Submarine in Toys R Us, even though it's not out till Tuesday!! but the Caterham was sold out!!!

I also bought the Architecture set of the Flat Iron (My favourite building!!) as it was only £20 at the Toys R Us shop!! Because I spent over £50 I got a Lego 'Geoffrey The Giraffe' kit (especially made for Toys R Us)

And as my mate got us 'Premium' tickets (half price) we got a goodie bag which had a 'Vetruvius' from the Lego Movie amongst other things!!!

Not as good as London last year! But still a good day out!!

Got home last night and ordered the Caterham on Lego! got Double VIP points!! so all in all a good day's Lego!!! :D

I thought the Force Awakened sets were terrible last year but the Rogue stuff whups it hands down for awful. The U wing looks like something my son would randomly make from a box of bits. Tie striker and hovertank equally awful.

Part of it I suppose is down to the awful ship design for the new films.

That X-Wing looks familiar. The instructions were a bit odd as the colours for dark grey and brown seemed to get mixed up a couple of times but nothing that I couldn't puzzle out. The model looks lovely above my tv.
