Coolio!

Challenge mode is definitely supercharging.

For anyone that doesn't know it...when Aksis teleports, the plates that he *hasn't* gone to light up red, and the other empowered guardians can dunk their empowerment into it which instantly recharges super for everyone.

You just have to do that every teleport, *before* Aksis is slammed....so timing is pretty tight.

It does mean you can use your super on every short teleport phase instead of saving it for the longer damage round....more DPS ftw!

Aye I'm a bit raided out anyway...quite looking forward to a bit of crucible.

I'll set up a raid for Thursday.

See you in the IB party!

I've turned to the darkside and started running a shotgun. Using the 'fun police' defender + no backup plans build....great fun! Need to get a bit better at timing the suppressor grenades though.

It's ridiculous what you can tank with force barrier and relentless...you can properly get into shotgun brawls and wreck 2-3 people at a time :)

Should hit 400 pretty quick, got my ghost/artifact/class/primary/heavy at 400...

I don't get on with slow firing shotguns for some reason. My god roll matador feels like I may as well be using a pea shooter.

Trespasser is my main secondary. I need to practice more with my shotgun but it just feels like a lottery rather than a proper fight. Who hits the trigger first wins. Also the range some people can kill with it is absurd. Your relying on most pellets hitting the chest with 1 or 2 hitting the head.

Hunters were designed to be the quickest characters but titan skating with the barrier, lethal shock nades and shotguns makes them OP.

I hope they nerf titan skating to even the classes out a little. Also need to nerf warlock melee ranges.

Was wrecking in IB last night with my Conviction II sidearm. Sureshot IS, Rangefinder, Spray and Play, Smallbore basically lead me to using it as a primary, with Bad Juju as backup for ranged attacking (and to get me 3-shot Shadowshot quicker). Got all my Thorn void kills in one sitting, seemed quite painless!

Just being a dirty shotgunner in IB...although I wish it was Supremacy :'(

Anyway, thursday HM raid, can't remember exactly who on the party last night was up for it, put your names down :)

7:00pm Thursday WoTM HM

Titan skating can stay as it is. But they need to make the armor / recovery / agility stats on the class tree actually make more difference.

Right now they make little difference to your movement speeds and / or survivability.

What if putting yourself on max agility enabled you to titan skate, but the reuction in armor meant everybody could 2 shot you with hand cannons ? you'd have to think about the trade off. Yes you can titan skate with a shotrun right up in somebody's face but you'd get easily shot down as you charged somebody.

Alternatively you can put your armor up to max, but the resulting decrease in agility would mean there would be no way you could shoulder charge / garrison dodge all over the map and and take everything like a champ.

Alternatively just make special ammo function like heavy. Players spawn in with none, the special spawns in and is announced in game to make players fight over the spawn and control it. Make it a conscious decision that teams have to fight over special if they want to shotgun everybody.

I agree with this. At the moment this is a trade-off for a Hunter, but no other class. Running higher agility and recovery (to compete with Warlock/Titan) on Gunslinger means I need to run lower armour and rely on a +2 chest piece.

I see what you're saying, but that would be a massive cop out by Bungie. Simply removing ammo because they can't balance secondaries properly is BS. IMO max range shotgun =/= max impact shotgun, everyone just uses Matador / PC +1. Why not have max range, lower impact vs max impact, lower range. Same way if I want to snipe, I deal with the flinch.

Shotguns need a change....I'm not entirely sure what though.

I've been running shotgun for the first time, a good roll matador. It's undeniably effective, but it's such a crap gameplay experience, especially when you're trading half the time.

It would be quite interesting to try out a 'No Shotgun' gamemode. It would really bring primaries into the game, make fusions and sidearms much more useful.

special ammo is currently an issue for snipers but not for shotgunners.

whenever I'm sniping I'm constantly out of ammo. whenever i use shotgun i have enough to wipe out the opposing team 3 times over.

so taking away special from all secondaries would hurt snipers even more and currently they don't get used much due to the nerfs they have already had. i don't feel that is a fair solution at all

i think shotguns accounted for like 45% of all kills in trials over the past 2 weeks. all primary weapons put together doesn't even equal the number of shotgun kills.

when your using a shotgun generally speaking there is hardly ever wasted ammo. with sniping you can miss or body someone. very rarely does a shotgunner miss or not 1 shot someone for instance. usually 1 pellet = 1 kill. however snipers are more likely to not kill due to the difference in skill levels. snipers need to aim for a small head in the distance. shotgunners aiming for chest close up.

i like the comment about max range low impact and max impact low range. however they would need to completely re-work all the archetypes. people sitting on god roll matadors would be up in arms. it is a workable solution though and a better one that buffing every other weapon in the game.

also like the comments on builds. currently hunters are at a disadvantage. those type of changes would help balance classes.
