No if the 1080ti comes out it will be a Pascal card. Nobody really knows when Volta will arrive. It could well be 2018 which is when AMD are supposedly bringing Navi out.

According to NV, Volta will come out H1 2018

GTX1080Ti going to be a Pascal card, between 1080 and TXP in perf and price, coming out around January 2017.

We do not know the naming of Vega chips, but given there is whole range of new generation(low, mid, high, enthu) AMD will stick to their naming convention so R<something> 5xx
More likely R11/RX 590.

I re-read what I posted and yes, okay I did make it sound like the Fury Pro was just under the 1070 on some of the latest titles when in fact it was the Fury X and the Fury X is beating the 1070 on some of the latest titles. My apologies (See Floppers Post and Link above somewhere).

Actually the Fury Pro is only around 5% behind the Fury X on most games and mine has all shaders unlocked so equal to Fury X ;)

So no-one is making anything up :D

As for the Titan X thread....well that will soon be full of people moaning about how Nvidia have shafted them again with the power and cost of the 1080Ti.... they should have known better. Once bitten....etc..:(

Go look up the benchmarks instead of trolling.

At stock, the 1070 is much faster than the FuryX in 99.9% of games.

Also, 1070's overclock well, while the FuryX's hardly overclock at all, which further increases the gap between these cards.

Pretty much all of them can get half of the shaders unlocked you may as well do it.
 
i know we all love to overclock but why dont nvidia scrap that boost tech and just stick the clocks of the cards closer to what most of them boost too?

do you think AMD could use this sort of boosting?

I say the Nvidia gpu boost means stock clocks can be lower which allows them to use a few more chips that might not hit that 1900 or so Clock if that was the new reference clock. It also stops anyone going my GPU gets hot and downclocks past its stated clock.

Did you not look at the link that Flopper posted ? A very good showing for the Fury X against a card that is a generation in front of it. I am not trolling , I am looking at information and commenting on what I have seen. Nothing more, nothing less.

Oh, we are onto the overclocking thing now are we. You'll be barking on about heat and efficiency next. How about you mention the words "Overclockers Dream" and "AMDs Rubbish Drivers" just to get all the usual constantly regurgitated guff out of the way.

This new generation we only have a small set of cards which are competing right now on the same level and they are the 1060, 1050Ti and 1050 which are competing against the RX480, 470 and 460. I see most of this being neck and neck and tit for tat depending on the games chosen etc...

Vega will release sometime early 2017 and go head to head with 1070/1080, then and only then will we really be able to compare them. So you go and compare Nvidias latest generation to AMDs last generation if it makes you feel better.:p

Initially, all I said was that the Fury X was seen to beat the 1070 on a specific just released AAA title, that (admittedly) I actually couldn't remember the name of at time of posting, but knew I had seen it. Flopper posted a load of benches that showed the Fury X leading in more than one title. Which until that posting, I wasn't aware of.

You just got yer knickers in a twist because you recently got a 1070 and felt butt hurt. No more, no less. :rolleyes:
 
I'm still getting the feeling of June for the AMD cards (or they'd have stuck to their Q1 timeline and not pushed to H1). Not only that, but I really hope they don't push these to the absolute limit again like the Fury line-up, we tweakers like to tweak :(

When is the last time that AMD stuck to a roadmap? Haven't they all been slipping this last few years?

Roadmaps are general presentations its not a companies fault the customer cant use logic. I seen q1 2017 for Vega.
you can plan for like 20nm but then its canceled so should you then still continue to use the roadmap for 20nm then?
stuff happens, just ask Gibbo about the recent Brexit I am sure his roadmap suddenly changed.

Vega and Zen is on track on the roadmap.
Not sure why you complain?

Hold on a second. We are in Q4 2016 not Q1 2017, how Zen is late?
Same applies to Vega. We are still in H2 2016, NOT H1 2017 when Vega comes out.

Nvidia was late with Pascals, from Q1 pushed to Q2 and became available in numbers at Q3 of 2016.
And they are going to be late with Volta. From H1 2017 moved to H1 2018!

Dishonourable will get better relax. PC games are just that complicated nowadays you almost shouldn't bother buying on day 1 anyway.
