There are only a few scant details about this incident yesterday, so this isn't about speculating on those, just a question in general.
It's been reported that police were called out to a property as a woman was being assaulted. There is no mention in the news report that it was reported the man had a firearm (Not that means he didn't have or it wasn't reported to the Police, it's too vague atm to know.)
So it just surprised me that the armed response unit was sent out *if* it was just reported as an assault in progress
Would there have had to have been a firearm reported, or any other weapon, knife, baseball bat....what is the threshold for armed Police to be sent out nowadays?
