Just damaged my Alloy Wheel

Guys i just hit a kerb and scraped my alloy wheel. Who has got thier wheels repaired before and what is the going rate? I have been quoted £50 so far.

My car is a 2015 Focus St 19" wheels (i Dont think they are diamond cut).
 
Does this sound correct.

Mon - THU 9-6 Fri 9-4. You come to me. Remove all road rash, prime, paint , lacquer. Can be done in about 1/2 day

Will the wheel be smooth again afterwards?
 
£59 sounds about right for a "tyres on" refurb (I.e. They only deal with the wheel rim). If you're expecting a full tyres off strip back and full refurb then I'd expect £150+ for that.

£20 per wheel Inc tyre on and off.
Good job too.

City do that for £20...
Tyre off
Chem strip
Sand blast
Powder
Lacquer
Tyre on.

Fancy colours add 5-10 per wheel.


So £150 per wheel can bugger right off
 
I've been quoted £75 (I think) per wheel for a full back to metal rebuild and re-tyre if I recall correctly but a proper bodyshop.

I don't even get how £20 would pay for the time equipment is being used up and labour time.

Unless they are refurbing wheels on a manufacturing scale doing hundreds if not thousands a day (and equipment to go with that, so that labour is minimised) it can't be the same as a proper refurb.

From what i could see they could be doing 200+ per day

Good powder coverage, good clear coat coverage.

No Bubbles, no blemishes.

Ofc its not the same finish as a real proper paint job could get, but wheels just get dirty within 5 miles and the looks ruined anyway...!

The main benifit of a full powder job is that all corrosion is removed by the sand blasting and entire surface area is covered for maximum protection.

Please by All means give me reasons why a full strip, blast and powder coat with lac on top would not be good?

Please supply evidence and I will stop recommending them.

You prob can't offer first hand experience, yet I can.
