Advice on consumer rights for a damaged oven after cleaning service

I've gotta move out soon, this has made me scared of hiring "professionals"

When I moved out of my rented flat, I just hoovered my oven for all the burnt bits and crumbs inside and used Detol surface cleaner to give it a clean, only intended to give it 20 minutes of my time and it came out pretty well :D

Not really because a restaurant meal is a completely different experience to cooking a meal at home, when you clean an oven you get the same results whoever does it.

You're right. I can cook a vastly better meal at home than most restaurants I've eaten at where £50 would get you 2 meals ;)

This thread reminds me we could really do with cleaning ours. Apparantly ours has a self cleaning cycle you can put it on. I remember doing it when we first got it, made the house hella' smokey!

Self cleaning ovens are great. Ours nukes everything at the temp of the sun and leaves a fine dust behind. :D

Conversely, if you earn enough that you don't need to work stupid hours, it seems bonkers to waste your free time doing mundane chores when you could pay someone else to do them giving you more time do things you actually want to do!

Yep same with cleaning and ironing and washing/polishing your car.

My spare time is too valuable so i would rather pay people to do these things.

I have a great car detailer who comes every month to my car.
