Now officially acknowledged by Apple. Had this a couple of times with battery still between 20-35%. Affecting a small number of serials manufactured between September and October 2015, so if you're an early adopter you could be affected.

Cheers,

Had this problem a few weeks ago, but it seems to have gone back to working ok now since the last software update.

Will look at getting it replaced anyway, it won't hurt to replace the existing battery.

Yep, had this for a good 2-3 months. Eventually got Apple to replace my 6S (last week, before this was made official).

cool. my 6s sometime shutdown unexpectedly on its own. i think their refurbs will still have a same problem until hardware wears out again?

Well it's a battery replacement scheme, and it's only for phones manufactured within a two month period, so I'd personally suspect a bad batch of batteries which shouldn't affect a replacement.

Well I just checked with the online chat and my 6S is in the affected batch. Shame the availability in the local stores (Liverpool/Manc) is so poor at the moment.

Good news for the missus as she's eligible for this, shes been complaining about it for a while but didn't act on it and is now out of warranty. Is there a nack to getting a genius bar appointment, can never get one at the trafford centre which is the best one for us to get to...

They are doing a bit of damage limitation as I have personally experienced 2 iPhone 6 (not 6s) models doing the same - 1 replaced under the 2 year Trading Standards thingamajig and one that couldn't be (as was bought via a network).

I could swear to god something is built in to make phones start playing up as soon as a new model is out.

Went into a store in the US last week about this (unaware it was a widespread issue). Said that because it was now official, they could only replace the battery instead of giving me a new phone.

I didn't have time so had them book me back in to a store in London.
Heading there tomorrow to see what they do. Worst case scenario I guess they just replace the battery, best case they give me a brand new replacement.

If the appointments don't work online, best case is it be there in person when they open. They always have a certain number of appointments available from opening for walk ins on a daily basis.

mine has done this a few times as well (6s 64gb) I took my contract out in Oct 2015 with EE. Will I get anything done FOC about this or not?
