Anyone getting fed up of these messages when visiting various websites?

It's akin to watching something you've recorded and being told "We've noticed you're watching a recorded program, so you'll just fast forward through the adverts".

I think they're fair enough, to be honest. Can't really complain. Unless they start to make them just as obtrusive as some of the awful adverts that slow everything down.

I've just started disabling javascript now on some of the more obtrusive warnings. :o

I don't see the problem, myself.
Adblock plus was useful while it lasts, but at the same point it is reducing revenue streams for websites. Less revenue means they need to put on more adverts for those that don't run adblock.

Can't really blame website owners for trying to do what they can to maintain income, unless you want certain websites to go under.

True but their are plenty of websites that are criminal for pushing so many adverts that the actual content of what you are looking for becomes hard to find/read.

The problem is that websites took the **** and as a result a huge number of people started using adblockers. I never used to use one because I didn't feel it was necessary but these days the amount of intrusive ads on some sites is a joke. I am quite happy to whitelist some sites who are fair with the number of ads they show.

Still plenty of people using the sites without adblock and the ones who really need it with such little views are just over the top with ads.

Add blockers always feel a bit short sited and dishonest in a lot of ways.

There's this weird idea that I should get paid for the work i do, but i don't want to pay for the work others do.

Yes some sites overdo it, but theres a simple solution - don't use them. I don't like how The Metro is mostly adverts and useless content, so i don't read it - simple no? (Although i do use it for firelighter, so maybe i'm a hypocrite?)

Remember when people ran websites for fun and used their own money to fund them just because they wanted to.

Sure, sites were simpler with less traffic etc but it seems nowadays, every website you see, someone is trying to make money out of it somehow.

If it's something I genuinely use a lot I'll subscribe to get rid of ads.

I don't mind removing adblock for a site as long as you don't get all those bloody annoying page-covering ads (which is usually the case)

Agree with this. My attitude is "you broke my trust, now earn it back".

Ad blocker and the hosts file from here are what I use.

Personally I don't mind the message as I'm ok with looking at 1 or 2 ads. The message tells me to switch of ad block temporary to see if I find them intrusive, otherwise I would switch it back on and it forever lives in my black book of bad websites.
