Just to clarify, it was actually the MAP (Manifold Air Pressure) sensor which was faulty, not the MAF. (Must have mis-heard on the phone). Not sure if that's an item that can be changed at home. Good news is they gave the car a "complimentary" health check, which apart from a split windscreen wiper was all in the green. Handy to know with the MOT due in early January.
Might be perception but it seemed to be performing a bit better on the drive home (in as much as a stock 1.2 Corsa has any performance to speak of).
how much
Am not interested in how much his bill was..How muuuuuuccchhh....???
It doesn't really matter does it? Yes he's probably been bent over in some peoples eyes but if he's happy and it's sorted then that's that.
You take a 56 plate corsa to a main dealer
They must have your pants down over the years with it.
I used independent garages for my '56 Focus from when I bought it at under a year old until a couple of years ago. Whilst shopping around for service costs I found out the local main dealer price matched Halfords and other local outfits. The added benefit of free breakdown cover for a year with each service meant it made sense to use them. When it came to repairs, such as the bonnet lock failing (again) they were considerably cheaper than the independent I'd used a few years previously.
