***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

Err. Thanks. Problem is. I have no idea where to find it?

I have no messages in my "Messages" folder other than from OCUK .

Is the Trust thing located somewhere else?

I know what you mean. Spent over £500 in the last 6 months on Lego after a long gap.

In fact, the only thing stopping me at the moment is the fact that I have nowhere to put them once completed.

is the Lepin stuff good then? I have only bought original Lego till now, but some of the kits are quite expensive.

By the same token, have people bought off Aliexpress before?

Thanks.

The wife has bought me the Lepin Marvel Helicarrier for my christmas so haven't opened or built it yet. But ordering was easy (just download the app for your smartphone) and arrived quickly (was about a week). When ordering just look for the seller that has a good balance of number of orders, good customer feedback and price. The one i ordered wasn't the cheapest but the seller had lots of good feedback and lots of orders so paid that little extra.

Finally Finished.

Really enjoyed the build but seriously considering the full remote option, maybe in the new year, when Lego reopens for spare parts.

So i won £420 on the lottery last night and really want to get a bit of Technic. I really really fancy the bucket wheel excavator, currently £142.49 at tesco but i can get 10% off of it. Talk me out of it please or recommendations on other sets around that price point!

If it's your first Technics set you can do much better than the bucket wheel. The Arocs truck is considerably cheaper and much better imo.

Then again I don't like the excavator at all so take my opinion with a pinch of salt.

price wise i can see them on that popular auction site for the same price as the excavator at ~£128. Looking for a big impressive bit of kit to display. Have seen the Arocs but looking at it doesn't seem to excite me as much as the bucket wheel does. I had technic before when i was young (over 15 years ago now) and haven't touched lego since (not for lack of wanting). Biggest set i had was the 8479 barcode dump truck. Loved that thing.

If you want a big display piece, the Crane MK2 fully extended is massive and very impressive.

EDIT: https://shop.lego.com/en-GB/Mobile-Crane-MK-II-42009

Saw that too, but thats pretty expensive at nearly double the price of the excavator. I'm already giving £100 of the winnings to the wife to go buy herself some things, £100 to buy our 1 y/o daughter some stuff and then the rest for me but don't want to blow it all on the one thing

It's a retired set, hence the price. It will only go up in value. Mine's on display, properly impressive piece of kit. In fact I'd go so far as to say it's the most impressive technics set I've ever seen.

Have £15 Lego points about to expire....what should I buy.....tempted to get the Tie Fighter to go with my X-wing or get Detective's Office.

The mobile crane is a great Lego set.

Yes, it is expensive, but you get a lot of Lego for your money.

Technically, it is easily the most impressive build I have done.

I am actually quite surprised how high/far the arm extends. The wheel steering is also cool.

Definitely let us know if you motorise yours Boge. It is something I certainly wish I had known about when I was building mine.
