Problem is the while the home button works the hardware / capacitive buttons either side don't work

There are 2 types of mi5 which have different lgd panels.. there is a bug with CM in that the cap buttons don't work with one type of lgd panel and requires updated sources to be released from xiaomi before they will.

looks like you have that version mi5 so only onscreen buttons will work for now..

I have reverted back to Miui global for the time being
 
Nice one just got the latest Global EU Rom on my Redmi Note 3 Pro and now my Natwest banking app finally works. It used to just crash on opening, now i can fully use it. Brilliant, was close to selling it and getting something else as I had to keep using the web browser for it and that sucks.
 
Already the change to USB-C is doing my head in as I only have one cable.

Does anyone know of a reliable yet not over priced adapter so I can use all my old chargers? :)
 
My Mi5 finally arrived in the post this morning. First impressions are very good but MIUI will take a while to get used to as well as the navigation buttons.

Did anyone else not have the UK as an option for the location of the phone when setting the phone up? Think I just picked China and doesn't seemed to have caused any problems yet. Not sure if I'm running official ROM or not, today has mostly just been trying the phone out.

Got their screen protector on with annoying Chinese symbols on it but will do till the ones I've ordered arrive.
 
No UK option on my Mi5, think its set to China. Did have it set to France at one point. Dont think it makes a difference tho. Its normally easy to ID a fake rom, as the version ends in two zero's as opposed to one. Eg: 8.0.5.0.0. And the inability to update!

Doesn't look like mine's an official ROM then. MIUI 7.2.8.0.0 so will look into getting it flashed tomorrow.

Is there any way of waking the phone up apart from buttons on side? My Z3 I could double tap screen but can't find similar option on this.
 
Does anyone know how to create an offline photo album in gallery on miui 7? I can put a new one in cloud but I just want a new album in phone storage.
 
Version: 6.12.15 (MIUI8). Is this the latest version for those on mediatek redmi note 3? It's the developer ROM so I assume that means it's the one derived from snapdragon global ROM as there is a stable one above it which I assume is official China ROM with Chinese apps etc.
 
Discovered an annoying issue with my Mi5 today when listening to voicemail or a call that the screen would go black and I couldn't end call or use touch pad when required to listen to next voicemail for example. Turns out it is the proximity sensor and can be turned off in the 'Phone' app settings for anyone else having same issue. Might just be an issue with the ROM I'm using, as I still need to flash it to an official one.
 
WTF. Just tried unlocking my bootloader and it tells me current account is different from the account info on the device.

I'm confused?

Well you can always flash CM rom

Seems like someone else had an account on this phone and they never fully remove it. Where did you buy it from?
 
not sure whats going on but i downloaded the developer rom to my computer and my phone. Then went into updater and booted into recovery. nothing was happening so i plugged the usb cable in. next thing i know i get some update option flash up from mipc suite i think. so its apparently updating as we speak but seems to be doing official china rom?
