Plans for your car 2017.

The cambelt is due in May so I'll do the belt, water pump and thermostat at the same time. I fully expect the clutch to give up soon so might end up doing that as well. It will need new tyres in the summer too, currently wearing F1 AS2 but looking forward to trying something new.

I'd love to change the turbo and aim for 400bhp, but saving for a house, I really shouldn't.

Might end up leaving the turbo this year and start replacing a few ball joints and bushes instead.

Aaand to add to the list, new wing mirror, may have slightly clipped a hyundai and turns out hyundai wing mirrors are tough stuff, his was fine byt mine was in peices all over the road...

taxi probably somewhere in the region of another 80-100k miles and definitely no mods before the sneaky buggers on here report me to Glasgow council :)

the Omega, full respray after cutting the rust out change the 3l out for a 3.2, put it backwards into a couple of hedges

Pray for un-cracked subframe.
Pray for healthy big end.
Prey for working PDC module.
Pray for no further stone chips to diamond.cut wheels.
Pray for no VANOS issues.

That's a lot of praying.

Been thinking of a new exhaust setup and remap to add a bit of character to the engine, and to try and alleviate it's biggest problem, that of the "torque dip" in the mid range. I'm due a service at Abbey Motorsport within the next couple of months, so while it's in I'm going to speak to them about some options...seems the best option might be a new header, high flow cat and a remap. It will first time I've dabbled with engine mods on a car.

Even a catback and remap has made a huge difference to the personality of the car. If the dip is what you want to remove while keeping the car at a similar noise level I'd probably get a decatted manifold (header) with a remap and keep the rest of the exhaust as is. Will easily pass an MOT with one of the stock cats in place but going to a sports cat alone is a risk.

My plans are to finish off the full exhaust (decat and sports cat, can afford to take the risk) with a fresh remap, new brake discs and pads as the last lot got chewed out on track, probably upgrade the fluid and lines in the summer. Suspension is tempting but I'd rather drive the car on track more now than get new springs.

In order:

Remap
Get slight rear quarter damage fixed
Full professional paint correction
Quaife ATB Diff + New Synchros

Much track days.

How much would preventative measures cost, for the big end?

Nothing is needed, it only affects early gen models for which there was a recall on affected parts. It's more of a running joke, like bag of spanners :p

Ohhh. I thought it affected all of them. Thats good then.

Yeah I don't really want more volume when driving normally, just a nicer noise in the higher revs. I'm interested in the unequal length headers too, to give it that characteristic burble.

Mine goes in for LOADS....

- Wheels back to metal full refurbishments
- Front and rear grills binned and replaced with gloss black new Audi parts
- Rear bumper off, full repaint (stone chips, small mark and colour matching)
- Both sills fully repainted and treated with stone chip stuff
- Passenger side carbon blade either fixing or replacing after knuckle dragger hit it
- Full geo alignment

Budget......5K :(

Depending how my year ends, McLaren 570S in Summer to replace R8....or GT3 Gen 2 if I can get one.

car will be paid off by the end of the year; could afford to pay it off immediately if i wanted, but it'd only save me £12 to pay it off 18 months early so not much point( only £400 left due to overpaying)

Car, could easily not be here next christmas and have been replaced by something else; no idea what yet, we shall see. Largely dependant on next few months of training and insurance for new cars

Motorbike (SV650S) possibly a new exhaust although unlikely. Will need a new front tyre soon and for christmas I was given a track day voucher, so this year, my first track day  :D :D :D
