Help choosing new car 1 series or Golf

I've just been looking at 3 series leading too, some awesome deals to be had

If I'm going to spend £300 a month on a golf I could get a 335d x drive for £380

Think I rather spend an extra £80!

Housey - I understand the polo gti is a great deal and a great car but I'm into bigger cars, I have been using a new fiesta st for the last 2 days put loads of smiles on my face

The 335D XDrive is leagues ahead of the Golf and 1 Series and there are some made deals out there on these if you shop around, probably close to the deals you are seeing on the Golf/1 Series. A Polo GTI is too much car for you anyway, only seasoned, experienced, race drive like skilled drivers could tame one. :)

I have a 330d, much better car than a gtd. If a 6 cylinder diesel is in your budget go for it, no doubt. Unless you can get a significantly cheaper petrol as your mileage isn't that high.

I found the same as you I could get a better deal in a 3 series than a 1 or 2 series.....

Are those lease prices or a company car scheme? If there's a deposit on on top they are extremely expensive. I've currently got a GTD at 1800 + 23*240 and an R estate at 2400 + 23*212.

I agree

golf deal is horrendous pricing.

I've got a gti golf dsg on 10k /24 months for £100 a month less than the OP's price with only 3 months down.

We had a Golf GTD and loved it to bits, fantastic car, we currently have a 116i and I hate it, we got it cos she said it looked pretty. Stuck with it as the car is in negative equity.

True story.

Where from?

online leasing company that I found. Was a semi limited special offer but that's the situation I was in and happy to wait until I found the deal, I was in no rush.

http://www.vehicles4work.com/ chap called Ben

And the car has nothing to do with work - don't worry about that! Just the name of the site.

Also do consider whether leasing is your best option before you go jumping in etc. Think about insurance as well etc.

If yours gonna spend an extra 80 for 380 you might as well budget 500 and be in a range rover or 6 series instead.

Also how are you failing to understand that pcp on used cars is absolutely terrible compared to getting a loan?
