I disagree with you, personally. Or rather let's take it to to another level first.
Let's say he is being prejudice, does he not have fair reason to be? Numerous bad experiences have involved this subset of the community. I would argue it's almost natural to feel some unease around these specific members of the community?

At the end of the day. If someone has a problem with me because of the colour of my skin. I seriously wouldn't care. I'd still sleep fine at night.
Too right brother! *high 5* Such educated people as us would never prejudge a bear, we would go closer and stroke it to get more information if it is friendly or not. To stereotype a bear because it's a bear is wicked!
The bear has natural instincts to hunt prey.
What if it impeded you getting a job, walking safely down a street, or generally meant your life was a living misery though? Would you sleep fine?
The majority of prejudice comes from indirect experience, stories, media, etc.
Humans do hunt other humans and eat them. Especially black ones. True fact.
And so you are proving that the prejudices are learnt... Not instinctive (like some people here are trying to state with their "fear of other tribes" explanation. We're not born with this sudden instinct to be suspicious of anything not the same as us!
If a white baby was brought up by black foster parents, it wouldn't be suspicious of those parents later in life![]()
No I'm not, I'm arguing against just that. Forming an opinion based on experiences is not being prejudice by definition.
Otherwise you get into this whole 'prejudice is evil. Apart from if you have had numerous experiences...' Which is just silly.
To an extent you're right. Prejudices are learnt. But without personal experience... Subtle difference.
These are my opinions anyways.
Ultimately I don't know what the big issues or drama is with labelling someone with an 'ist. If someone wants to be racist, sexist, etc why can't they be? It's narrow minded. But their choice.
Humans do hunt other humans and eat them. Especially black ones. True fact.
Narrow minded you say.... And what of those who promote "positive" discrimination? Are they not as narrow minded as those you label racist, sexist and so on?

Unlike humans.

So many people fear Muslims having never even seen one in real life, because media.
So are you saying that all humans have an instinct to hunt prey?
If so, how is your analogy of the bear appropriate? If that's the case then we should all fear each other, and not be naturally be any more afraid of one race over another.[/
When hungry enough.
