I don't understand racism or homophobia

How does murdering someone change that?

Also go here and sirt the table by murder rate.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rate

Isn't india a poor country? Yet it has 1/10th the murder rate than S.A....

There are a number of cultural and historic differences between the 2 countries though.

India had a 50 year lead on Independence from British rule vs the end of Apartheid and the first black government in SA.

Yes, a caste system still operates in India, but it is not government sactioned like Apartheid in SA was.

The British Empire also treated Indians far better than white South Africans did blacks.

The fact that the ANC has failed to deliver on it's promises for the past 20 years also creates swathes of disenfranchised and disgruntled black people, many of whom still blame this on the white people, and who adopt an every-man-for-himself way of life.

Then you have the tribal issues.

And the migrants from bordering countries.

So yes, there are more geo-political differences than what is going on in India, but a big difference is that the SA government has made promises of a better life for black people which hasn't happened, so people are angry. Sadly, it's almost as if many of the poor in India just accept their lot, possibly because they weren't fed false promises for 2 decades.

Please don't even get me started on South Africa. Just don't.

Can we talk about gay people now.

This really. Pure ignorance and complete lack of insight into true causality.

People, even retards, like to define the causes of things. But because certain people are too retarded to analyse things with deeper logical insight, they simply identify basic low level factors like skin colour as the causal factor, and this creates self-gratification because they think they've nailed/understood something.

I really don't understand people who say blacks are more criminal. It's just such a disgusting thing to say. I've met and know many real black people straight from Africa and they are some of the most harmless and friendly people I've ever met!

How about this, since youre always so into you "pop" psychology.

Black people are much more recently linked to hunting/nomadic based lifestyles as opposed to the farming based life style of europeans etc.

Because of this they may retain a higher level of instinct in terms of instant gratification versus delayed gratification.

This would leave them more impulsive and thus more likley to cross the law in western societies, especially if they are of a lower socioeconomic class.

Much in the same way men have higher crime rates than women and are more known to be risk takers.

I wonder if there are any studies on instant/delayed gratifcation based around race.

I know there where ones of boys vs girls and girls waited and got the second marshmallow way more often than boys.

Can't argue that. I have a gay mate and he is often the life of the party. Though his husband isn't anywhere near half as funny as he is

Yeah whenever they get married there's always one fun one and one moody husband complaining that youve got your hand down thier partners pants

Some interesting things to think about, but I don't have much time to think right now, certainly tonight.

But here's another thing to think about, is Africa's legal system the same as Europe's? Can regular people have their civil issues dealt with by courts just as easily as you can here in the UK?

For those interested in why Africa has higher crime rates and lower development, please look at properly researched and peer reviewed articles from academics.

LIKE THIS

TLDR: The slave trade and colonialism really, really ****ed up that continent.

Could you give us a bit of a break down if you've read it, other than it's white people's fault?

That article only mentions crime twice and then only in a historical context. It shows that slavery and economic underdevelopment are related but doesn't relate either to gun crime/murder rates.

It does, however, go further than simple correlation in order to confirm a causal relationship, ie. it is good science (which you would expect from QJE).

one thing is colonialism is always brought up as the reason for Africa's slow development.

but what was slowing them down before colonialism?

Didn't the romans rule north Africa so the Mediterranean countries enjoyed the renaissance but the massive desert below that seems to have stopped anything going down to the rest of Africa. Till colonialism. That sounds a bit too simple tbh but invasions and the sharing of knowledge are kind of synonymous.
