Is the pro controller really needed this time around though? The only thing that puts me off the standard docked joycons is the right analogue stick looks a little low.

Also, can't see any games on Amazon.

Needed or not, it is over priced IMO. But yeah, I doubt I will be getting one as I do not think there will be any multiplayer games that come out that we cannot just play with the joy con.

Yeah, not seen any games on amazon either. Just want Zelda to be honest. Overall I cannot complain too much, I sold my Wii U about a year ago, so this is costing me about £50 for the upgrade. That said we will likely buy Mario Kart again which I sold with the Wii U, so probably £90 difference then. Still not bad for a nice upgrade :D

I guess we can just pop a free preorder on amazon anyway and see what happens over the next month or so and pull out risk free. I assume pay ent is made on dispatch

Even if i do keep it, they wont get it to me regardless, never had 1 successful preorder on amazon. It will say in stock until the day then you get an email saying hmm maybe next week :D

It's about £50 more expensive than I'd expected but I can't resist the thought of a new Nintendo console with Zelda at launch and Mario kart, asplatoon and Mario Odyssey to follow a couple of months later. Dragon quest and xenoblade chronicles storms good to.

If not for brexit this would have been £200 or there abouts probably to be honest. When you think $300, it is a good price for a new released console.

Back in 2007 when pound was 2:1 it would have been £150 :(

lol - no way. This was never in a million years going to be priced fairly. £250 at the lowest.

Nintendo seem to follow apples pricing model - it you want it you gotta dig deep.

Having just had a look at the launch line up... yeeeesh. I think critics are going be harsh on Zelda - the standard of top games on other consoles is just so high. It had better be really good.

I disagree. Exchange rate matters a lot. The value of the pound has plummeted over the last 10 years. It is worth nearly half of what it was vs the dollar :(

It has but Brexit was only responsible for the last ~2 years and UK prices have ALWAYS been higher even with exchange rates taken into account.

It's far too expensive.

Hardcore Nintendo fans will snap them up today, for everyone else it's a non starter as it has the now usual Nintendo problem of being too expensive, not as powerful as its competitors, and having no games.

I'm no nintendo fanboy but the ps4 lunch lineup was far worse. Killzone and friggen knack, what the hell went on there!

It'll be interesting to see whether the places that offeed price guaranteed orders at £200 actually honour it. I was tempted but the customer feedback on the company in question wasn't great.

Sure, not arguing with that. What I am saying is had we voted staying in, it would have probably been around 1.5 or 1,6 now, instead we are at 1.2 with the potential to go down more. That makes a big difference in pricing. But anyway, no point going on about that, it is what it is. I am buying one anyway :D
