So I had an urge to play this again, but can anyone tell me if anything has changed (for the good) since I stopped playing (not far off when WT-E100 was added) ?
Aimed at the old school guys more than anyone else.
wn8 has nothing to do with winning.
The people who created wn8 have a list of expected performance values for each tank, mostly its about damage and assisted damage. Capping points and some other stuff counts too I think.
The better you do compared to the expected value the higher your wn8.
If the tank is faceroll easy to get damage in then the expected value will be high and you will have to do extremely well to pull off a high wn8.
If the tank is difficult to play or has a big difference in power between premium and normal rounds you can get a much better than expected result by tryharding with it and that gives you a high wn8.
Bottom line is wn8 is based on your contribution in the battle and not whether you won or not.
I think the key message here is that there are differing levels of contribution. Sniping damage that leaves enemies on 90% health may well give you a 'god game' but result in a loss when the enemy caps out and you do nothing to stop it.
Equally, there will be games when you sacrifice your light tank to stop a cap and give the heavies time to get there and win. 90 cap points saved, 300 damage and *you* enabled the win.
Good answer - cheers.
