Resident Evil 7 Soon ;) cant wait..... :)

Was thinking about getting this but Im a bit of a chicken when it comes to scary games. Did just about manage to complete Until Dawn.
How does it compare for scare factor?

I never played Until Dawn so can't compare the two. I've played a bunch of survival horror games over the years tho and this as got more of a reaction than anything previous! It's down to the VR - I don't how scary playing in 2D would be, but in VR, when things are happening to you, it looks like they're happening to you! It's way more personal. I also find after an 30-60 minutes or so everything external to the game fades away and I forget i'm standing in the living room looking like a massive wally and i'm in the RE house.

I'm playing the game on PC and I played until dawn. Until Dawn is not as scary IMO, but I'd say if you managed to stomach Until Dawn you might be ok with RE7

It is actually a decent game. Its a back to form RE game if you ask me.

Thought I'd finished the game last night when you see the wrecked boat and the cut scene starts. Thought I was going to play a token 1-2 minute bit of gameplay but seem to be on a whole new part of the game :D

I played Until Dawn and found it more jump scary than this. But I think this is more tense as there are nice puzzle sections where things calm down and you can walk around a bit but when **** goes down it really goes down. Only 2 hours in so can't say for sure.

Like the above I am actually quite impressed after the crap we've had since RE4. Although the camera perspective has changed it still feels like a Resident Evil game to me.

Same here as I limped through the game so far with sod all ammo for anything to then go to a place I don't even have a weapon lol. I love the mild version of the licker from resident evil 2 whilst being on a ship which makes me think I'm playing revelations 1!

Just got to an interesting choice in the game...

I killed Jack and now have to choose who to cure with the one dose of serum. Zoe or Mia. I'm guessing this choice will affect the outcome of the game. My gut tells me Mia is the right choice, since she's the players girlfriend. But I dunno...

What did other people choose? Does it alter the ending a lot?

I chose Zoe as she helped me and was not being a bitch.

You will indeed get a different ending as I chose Mia on my second playthrough :)

I ended up choosing Mia. I thought that would be the end of the game, with maybe one more big boss fight first. Just went through a whole section on the boat, including a flash back. That whole section actually felt more like a Resident Evil game of the past. I'm wondering if this is some Umbrella project gone wrong. Or some other group.

Calling it quits for the night now that I'm back in the present again. Makes me wonder how much more of the game is left...

Want me to answer that for you? :p;)

Finally got to start this last night, put a couple hours in as i had an alarm call out annoyingly so that took an hours gameplay away.

My god it's good, first game I've played in a while which makes you think did i go the correct path, or constantly checking to see if your about to die, the puzzles so far have been quite straight forward, but it's been amazing, didn't want to stop but had to.

Damn after struggling to get passed Jack after dinner I just did the first boss fight in the garage.

My oh my this game is fantastic.

In the main hall and I love the little Easter eggs they've planted.

Completed the game on normal difficulty. I thought this was a good edition to the franchise.

Quite surprised there was no boss fight against Lucas, apart from his crazy death traps. We never see him again after his plan to burn us to death fails. Maybe he'll feature in some DLC?
