Six dead in Quebec Mosque terror attack

There are some bad, angry, disaffected people in this world who want to cause harm. They come from all over and mostly they believe themselves to be acting out the will of their idea of God. They want to put an end to the sort of liberal freedoms we have enjoyed over the last 50-60 years. Some of them claim to be Muslim, some claim to be Christian. Neither have understood the key message of their religion.

The biggest danger we face is not the terrorist, but the governments who are using these people as a pretext to enslave us.

You are a wise man.

It's a fair assumtion, islamic extremists tend to target the moderate musliums in the middle-east

that is not what you sadi at all (which I partly agree with):

Looks like they're turning to Canada now the US is closed for business

Which is utter nonsense. The US is not "closed for business", there hasn't been a fetal terrorist attack form any of Trump's banned 7 countries in over 40 years. The risk of terrorist attacks in the US has only increased with Trump's ban, the US is not safe from terrorist attack at all.

Moreover, what happened in Quebec appears to be the action of a white French Canadian far-right extremist. So "They" are no turning anywhere.

He seems to have quite Catholic tastes.

For example he seems to like the feminist movement at his university, how does that fit in with your assessment of this boy?

H G Wells?

Mr. Bean?

Pope John Paul II?

I don't get the connection at all:confused:

Unlike racists and and xenophobes and don't generalize religions based on the actions of a terrorist. But the fact that a far-right extremest likes far-right political parties and leaders is entirely relevant, and no, I'm not generalizing all Trump supporters.

wtf is going on these days, at the start of the thread - it was Islamic terror attack with Syrian suspects and AK47s, now it's apparently a right-wing French-Canadian?

Everything is BS, you can't trust a damn thing you read anywhere, people just make stuff up as they go along,

It was never honestly reported as a Syrian refugee, except by fake news outlets and Trump supports.

Why not both suffering from mental illness? Or do people of Morrocan origin not suffer from that? Or is it called mental illness in one race and terrorism in another? Surely just pick a term and stick with it.

The Canadian police have said one is the shooter and the other is an eye witness. So we have one Moroccan man and the Christian trump supporter.

The location was a mosque. Chances of the White Christian guy been the eye witness inside the mosque? Anybody?

The data is perfectly valid and well referenced if you want to do your own research.

Would you care to provide a reference then? It is just an image with a load of figures on which doesn't refer specifically to only attacks on US soil. Where does it come from and what attacks is it referring to in those totals?

Where's the source for him being a Christian? Honestly the level of speculation from all parties in this thread is unreal!

That was one racist us trump supporters Twitter feed. Like he would get the inside scoop on Ho the shooter was......

But you can guarantee millions round the world will believe that now and the MSM reporting it as a white Christian trump supporter will be "fake news"

Well, one of his likes on his FB page is for Pope John Paul 2 plus quite a few other "christian leaning" organisations, so I don't think it's an unreasonable assumption.

Or maybe people are just assuming as he comes form a Christian country he's a christian, like others on here do when they assume anyone from Syria is a Muslim.

Did you miss the other likes towards the likes of Richard dawkins? What's he famous for again? Remind me please.

I'm aware you were not addressing me. But I was addressing your argument. And half the stories in the main stream media are "fake news" or more accurately opinion pieces presented as facts. Let's not fool ourselves into believing "fake news" is a recent phenomena.
Fake news isn't new.

The inability of some to recognise the difference between decent journalism and fake news has presumably been around a long time.

What's new is the lack of shame people have in that ignorance. People now crow their bigotry, where in a properly functioning society, it was previously quelled through a correct sense of public shame.

The earliest reports said that the attacker(s) had a French Quebecois accent.

Such a disappointment for the anti-Muslim brigade:

A French-Canadian university student named Alexandre Bissonnette is the single suspect in the shooting at a Quebec City mosque that killed six people, according to a source familiar with the matter.

Authorities initially said they had arrested two suspects, but in a Twitter message, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said that "following the investigation, the second individual is now considered as a witness".

The second man is of Moroccan descent although his nationality is not known, the source said. He has been named by media as Mohamed Khadir, or Mohammed Belkhadir.

Police said they were confident no other suspects were involved in the attack.

"They consider this a lone wolf situation," the source said.
