Do you see your birth year everywhere?

Just recognition bias I'm afraid OP. The Date is significant to you so you recognise it more often than someone who has no link with that year.

My housemate at uni had a thing about the number 111. Living with her for three years mentioning it every time she saw it now means I can't help but see it either.

It's the same as when you buy a new car, you suddenly see that same model a lot more than before you thought about buying one.

No...
It's just if you're looking out for a particular number (and pay attention to it), you're likely to see it more often. :D

Last night I was watching an episode of the Americans and 1983 was shown on screen a few times. Then after that decided to watch an ep of Nikita and there was a gravestone with 1983 inscribed on it. Then to top it off I noticed on the can of Hobgoblin I was drinking it says "est 1983".

It's not just a one off coincidence either, I've noticed it repeatedly in the same night a few times now. Last time it was when I watched two films back to back and both had a flashback scene that was set in 1983.

I'm just wondering whether 1983 is just a very popular year or whether other people notice their birth year a lot as well?

Where about on the spectrum are you, my dude?
