Inconsiderate & slow drivers

No nothing says you have to and no one said you have to and no one's forcing anyone to do anything but I appreciate it when people do it as my FOV on a bike in my helmet isn't great coming off a slip road. I expect nothing from anyone else on the road apart from them to drive like a complete **** anything else is a bonus.

Nothing says anyone has to hold a door for me either if I'm coming through it behind someone but it's nice of them to do so.

Which is the whole point of his post, "just because... you're being an inconsiderate *****"
By following the rules?
OK, so I'll go out and start giving way to everyone, because it's nice. It's a fail on the test, but it's nice. It holds me up, but it's nice. It's signed otherwise and ruled otherwise, but it's nice... from a thread all about being too impatient to cope with other road users, I'm supposed to be all nice about it..... Yeah, OK....

Get a better lid, then - My FOV is much better on the bike than in a car.

Nothing to do with my lid more to do with the range of motion in my neck my C3 has a massive visor.

We're not talking about what the rules are, we're talking about what's considerate. It's not crazy to think that someone moving over if there's room/it's easy to do so is a considerate thing to do. They don't have to, it's just nice if they do.

I'm not sure how you've got from moving over into an empty lane that wouldn't require anything other than moving right not even slowing down and would cause absolutely no inconvenience what so ever to giving way to every other person on the road. If someone moves over to give me more room filtering I'll thank them, they didn't have to and I didn't have to give them a wave but it's nice to acknowledge someone making life that little easier.

There's no rules or laws about generally being courteous to others but if you walk around in real life with an attitude of "I don't have to do anything for others because I'm not made to by law" then that's a pretty strange outlook.

Simple. Stupidity.

If that's how your line of thinking works you must have very few friends...

Ah, kk.

They don't have to, it's just nice if they do.
Yet people on here are getting wound up by those that do not move over... as if they *expect* it to happen, which is the original quote I was addressing.
If I do move over, good for you. If I don't, tough ****. Deal with it and drive around it, like you're supposed to.
Same if someone is travelling a few mph under the limit, relax and deal with it instead of boiling your blood on the forum over it.

Well, from the attitudes on here, that seems to be what's expected - How else should I avoid incoveniencing all these special little ********** and causing a few moments delay to their journeys?

I'm actually the type who gets shouted at for holding doors and the like, because people are apparently "not disabled or anything and perfectly capable of opening doors themselves"... but whatever.
Damned if I do, damned if I don't...

Simple. Stupidity.
If you say so, Officer.

If that's how your line of thinking works you must have very few friends...
Oh, so I am a friendless **** for not accomodating other people's driving, yet those same other people start threads like this bitching about how having to accomodate others' driving is such an inconvenience.... Do tell me more.

In truth, I have very few friends, because I find most people are selfish and arrogant *****, out for just themselves, up their own backsides and lack sufficient good manners for me to actually like them in the first place.... but hey-ho.

So many slow drivers round by me. The usual, 40 in a 30 then 30 in a 60. I don't mind on the way to work, but coming home, especially late when the roads are quiet, they are getting overtaken. It always amuses me when I get flashed, I leave plenty of room every time.

Quelle surprise.
Also ironic.
Ironic that selfish and arrogant drivers accuse me of being selfish and arrogant for following the law?
Or ironic that you have many friends because you like selfish and arrogant people?
Or ironic because I don't give way when I don't have to and you think that's selfish and arrogant?

I think it more ironic that, in a thread bitching about and overtaking people who don't drive properly, I'm getting stick for not being all nicey-nice to people who don't drive properly... Make yer minds up!!

Who said not giving way was selfish and arrogant?

The problem with slip roads is that, if there was a line of (Moving) traffic all in the left hand lane, you'd never be able to safely merge. If a couple of people move over into a completely empty lane, I don't see any issues.

That's obviously much safer for everyone than the guy on the slip road needing to come to a physical stop at the end of the slip road, and then being unable to get up to speed again.

My mind is blown

We've all come across these sorts of drivers I think. The 'I don't HAVE to move so I won't brigade', irrespective of how little effort it would take to move over and how much easier it would make other peoples journeys.

Doesn't seem to be a problem when all three lanes are loaded with moving traffic and people cannot move over... why is it suddenly a problem when Lanes 2 & 3 are empty?

I see that far more often when people cannot match their entry speed. Even if I do slow down for them and leave a massive gap, they still blaze off and try to get just one more car ahead, usually between two cars with too little space betwixt them anyway.
How is their bad driving down to me being a nasty ****?
I suppose I'm just as nasty for not stopping on a roundabout to let traffic ahead in, as well, yes?

Refusing to make it easier for someone who cannot cope with normal driving requirements and getting lamb-basted for it in a thread bitching about people who cannot cope with normal driving requirements.... Yeah, OK. Mind still blown, yes?

Fine, fine, just to make you happy, I will give way to everyone else at every opportunity, just to make their journeys easier... and I hope to GOD you're the car behind me.
