You've totally missed the point. We're talking about being courteous when it makes zero difference to you. It's not in the slightest bit comparable to giving way to everyone at every opportunity!

And yet people don't think that same courtesy is applicable when the car in front is going slightly below the speed limit... or prefers to take extra time checking at roundabouts...

I don't mind people going slightly below the speed limit or people taking a little extra time at roundabouts, do you? Seems reasonable to be a little courteous towards them, just like moving over on the motorway if it's not going to impact your journey. Comparing that courtesy with letting everyone out at every opportunity is frankly ridiculous.

I don't, no... but apparently that makes me the bad driver, while those who *do* mind and get all worked up over it then call me arrogant and inconsiderate...
