Nvidia crushes AMD at VR.

Eh? If you compare RX480 and 1060, the 1060 is pants as VR goes.
The RX series have great VR support.

However if we compare RX480 and 1070 yes, the 1070 is faster, but different price range also.

Alternative could buy 2 RX480s for the money of the 1070 if wants more perf. But the OP has gsync monitor.

Update:

Pulled the trigger on Gibbo's 1070 deal, was above my budget but I've got the new card set up today and am enjoying it so far :) cheers for the advice in this thread fellas

Also an update on Tesco Value meals for those interested:

Over the last week I've been opting for the ready meals for £0.95 each, the choice on Tesco.com is limited to

1. Tesco Everyday Value Macaroni Cheese 400G
2. Tesco Everyday Value Lasagne 400G
3. Tesco Everyday Value Sweet And Sour Chicken And Rice 400G

The Macaroni Cheese and Lasagne are bang average but the Sweet and Sour Chicken is actually quite nice and rivals what you'd get from one of the many dodgy looking takeaways in London, especially impressive when you consider that it's only £0.95!. I'm including an honourable mention to the Tesco Everyday Fisherman's Pie too that is available in stores for the same price but for some reason isn't included on the website, no idea what bits of fish they use to turn a profit at that price but the taste is all that matters!

Brilliant - so Tesco value month is thus far worth it for a 1070? :D

Just want to give my two cent, and say I have a 480 Nitro+, like you only upgraded for VR requirements (from a 7970) and have to say everything runs great here, compared to my 7970 VR gaming to now its light and day, not run into any issue with VR, Elite Dangerous is the only one I can think of at the top of my head I had to reduce graphics slightly and then it runs fine, of course 1070 is going to better but any gfx card £150 more is going to be.
