**** man, I'ved thrown my arms around to this more than once!!!

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.
They can't release anything as they don't have anything to release. Takes a long time to get something like a new gpu to market. AMD being late to the game is hopefully going to force AMD to low-ball their pricing, forcing Nvidia to do the same.

No matter the spin, AMDs current GPU offerings just aren't there.
Although I am tempter to switch out my 290x for a 480 though, because my 290x is reference.
290x is probably faster. Hang on.
Its just that the 290X is the loudest part of my machine. I've had a 290x basically since launch, I don't understand why it's been so hard to replace.
I'm there with you. Been what seems like forever for a new AMD to rival the nvidia offerings. Currently still own a 7950 but the lack of info yesterday coupled with this ti launch I think it's finally time to make the move. Was going to stay with AMD, but after seeing the 1080ti coming out much cheaper than I thought, I'm about to buy my first NVIDIA GPU.

I would be more than happy with 1080 level performance for freesync monitors.
They do have cards that compete, just not at all price points. One thing's for sure, after Vega launches AMD better make sure that they ALWAYS have cards that compete! This gap is just ridiculous imo

The 480 is a great card if you only want to spend £220.

We are all John Snow.
HBM2 apparent 50% increase in performance over GDDR5?
IPC 2.75 times higher than Fury? (11 calcs per cycle vs 4)
Other architecture improvements mean?
Clocks? Completely unknown AFAIK.
Just like ryzen was we have no clue what is coming.
I am praying for an epic win 2017 for AMD. One half of the business has delivered and they have been sitting on this graphics until it was ready. It must have really hurt AMD to sit there and just take it while the 1070 and 1080 came out. I think they would have only held on because they need to beat the 1080 and they now know they can beat it and they expect to beat the 1080ti as well.

Because AMD nor nVidia have a reasonably priced replacement on offer, actually AMD don't have one at all.
