As it says in the ad

If Carlsberg built council estates............

lol @Kaapstad :D

Joking aside, I look at the price and think to myself 'NVidia, you greedy *******' but at the same time, I look at my savings account that has specifically been put aside for PC components and think 'well, I work hard, so why shouldn't I?' I never understand people on a PC driven forum telling others what to do with their money, even though they have asked for no advice and frankly, in a rather rude fashion (which actually makes me laugh). It comes down to self justification and if the person buying can justify it to themselves, crack on.

Those waiting for Vega, nice one. Those waiting to buy from the MM, nice one, those buying the lowest priced, game playable PC components (if that makes sense), nice one (actually had to do that for many years when my two girls were young). Those telling people they should do this that and the other, even though no advice was asked, go away in jerky movements :D

@TNA - See what happens bud ;)

Lol. Would have missed all this unless I got an alert :)

Easy makes me laugh with his "your logic is flawed" line lately. Might start calling him Spock soon. But then again he would not be worthy of that title, as last time he said my logic was flawed also, then went and did what I did anyway, for the exact same reasons :p

Well Easy did get me to thinking and once my funds are fully repleted, I will be grabbing either the Asus or Acer Ultra wide monitor. And yer, he does have some weird logic at times :D Live long and prosper :p

Edit:

One thing that I don't like with those 3440x1440 monitors is this insistance that curved is great. I really don't get why it is a thing?

I use to care about peoples spending habits then I realized it's none of my frakking business.
Even if people want to spend 1 million on something it's up to them.
I swap and change hardware A LOT, Why ? Because I love experiencing new performance and features etc...which I can guess is the same with a lot of people in this community and hobby.
People should keep their eyes on their own money instead of other peoples.

+5, That is exactly right. The way I look at it, if i go out for dinner, or go to the movies, or both at the same time (!) I am easily £100 out of pocket for a few hours of fun. I don't see anyone going mental at Odeon and calling them greedy ******** for charging £2 for a small bottle of water, but here, seems to be open season ...

tbh the curve on my 3440x1440 i didnt realise it was even their Acer 34A
Good to hear. Before grabbing my LG OLED 55" 4K TV, I looked at many TV's in shops and so many curved but it kinda distorted the picture from various angles. I was originally interested in Samsungs Quantum Dot but was put off by it being curved.

I have a Dell U34 in my studio (Curved)
I have an Acer X34 for my Video Editing Gaming PC ( Curved )

Before I got the Dell U34 I briefly had an AOC superwide 34..This had no curve...It was horrible without the curve....Went Back to the shop.

The curve is subtle and because you are sitting so close to it it works...

A Curved TV is pointless...We sit much further away so any so its not needed...

I guarantee you will love the X34...

My X34 is the best PC hardware purchase of mt Career...Love it....Beats any GFX purchase a billion times over...It wonderful to game on...Its wonderful to Video edit on, its wonderful to surf the net on with multiple tabs open...

Mine rund flawlessy at 100hz and with with a 1080ti it would be sublime....

Oh dear I'm taking myself into buying a GTX 1080 ti :p

Do you get any distortion effect when working on static 2D stuff? I'm thinking photo editing in particular.

Good choice, I was actually surprised you was going for a 1080Ti before going for a new monitor myself. The 1080Ti will go very well with one of those monitors. You will have best of both worlds assuming your TV is nearby your PC. Can play certain games on your LG 4K OLED also when you want. I do this with my 1080p plasma. Some games I just play on that with a 360 controller, like Street Fighter V.

Did you ever get to hook your PC up to your TV? How was it? In your position I would have loved to have played Resident Evil 7 on that juicy 4K HDR OLED :)

@easyrider - You know you will end up getting the 1080Ti in the end ;)
