Don't you hate it when you wait in for a delivery and then DPD tell you they attempted delivery and left a calling card, both of which never happened...

Supposed to be delivered between 14:07 and 15:07 today, noticed James (delivery driver) was running late, and then delivery time changed to between :06:00 and 22:00.

Then surprise, surprise, attempted delivery and no one in to sign for it...what am I them, a phantasm?

Tried to contact DPD, but no success, their "help" line is automated and keeps looping the same message.

Meh, poor show.

Find the number for your local depot, usually the best route of contact and they should be able to track down the driver.

I've tried two different numbers, they' both loop the same message about attempted delivery, no human on the other end.

And I've tried to send them an email, press the "submit" but, like their delivery driver, it goes nowhere.

I think the only option they have for a failed/cancelled/missed delivery is to record it as that

The driver has either attempted delivery to another address (possible), or, more likely, as he was running late, just lied.

DPD drivers are very well tracked and expect a picture of any attempted delivery and card left so it's possible that was his only option to log it as even though he's broken down or something else that's completely thrown his schedule.

Happened to me several times in the past, the delivery time kept being pushed back before switching to attempted delivery.

I assume drivers just mark the delivery as such when they have fallen too far behind and intend to go home rather than work over. Its very annoying but thankfully DPD have been great for me the last few years.

If that's the case then DPD should have that option for the driver to fill in, rather than leave the customer hanging, with a fib.

I'm not sure they're leaving you hanging, you wouldn't be getting it either way.

I'd also recommend getting them vua Twitter. Worked wonders the one time I had problems (stupid shop sent my item to a different end of the country lol).

This. I had this once for two consecutive days. Both days it was on the van for delivery and never arrived. When I got hold of a person the next day I was told the first day the van broke down and the second day the guy didnt have time to delivery two days worth of parcels so mine got missed again :(

Work over!! Do you mean illegally work over his allowed driving hours.

They will have to mark it as something or it wont get passed over to the next day. However DPD should have a sorry were going to miss the delivery today status

phone the police?? no,wait get on the internet quick.

come on op, like you have never been late for anything.

Exactly. Best delivery company out there, yet people still manage to get their backs right up when it goes wrong. How dare the system not work 100% of the time!

I understand where you're coming from.

I suppose what grinds my gears is being lied to.

Mattyg is right, if they just sent an email saying sorry, we can't deliver today then, yeh, but they didn't.

Online deliveries are just going to get more popular so time slots will keep getting missed. DPD need more drivers but like most companies would rather put their current drivers under enormous stress to reach impossible deadlines.

Had a DPD delivery recently, was expecting normal DPD but this ended up being from 'DPD Local'.

I've not heard of DPD Local before, had half a thought about here we go, DPD going downhill.

I'm waiting for the knock at the door, there was none but the letterbox went.

They had delivered it to my next door neighbour without even knocking on my door.

I'm still trying to grasp why they did this and then post a 'left at your neighbours' card.

Dear oh dear, is that all? I ordered something from Amazon over 3 weeks ago. First it was slow to arrive, then I got a email saying it was out on the van.. then oh look, it says it was delivered to "me". Except it wasn't. Delivered to me, that is. Lord knows where it got to. So had to contact Amazon saying they'd send out another...a week later still waiting. Today I told them to stuff it and give me a refund after nearly a month.

If it says Amazon Logistics as the courier, don't bother. Thats the second parcel Amazon have "delivered-but-not-delivered" now due to their cheap-as-chips delivery services, last time it was MyHermes. Maybe its the same bunch of cowboys under a different name. Who knows.
