Looking to replace my main TV (40" LED Samsung, about 8 years old)

Ideally want to go for another Samsung. I've been looking at the following models -

KS7000 - 55" £899
KS7500 - 55" Curved £1199
KS8000 - 55" £1399
KS9000 - 55" Curved £1599 (with "free" Samsung curved soundbar)

What is the difference between the models? I'm guessing the 7000-7500 and 8000-9000, the difference is the curved screen? But what's the difference between the K7000 series and the K8000/K9000?

I'll be looking to use a PS4 pro on there plus netflix and Sky HD.

Usually the higher up models have slightly better local dimming and colour accuracy. Personally I don't think it's worth the step up in price. The 7000 is a bargain for what it is.

The 9000 is nearly twice the price, and you are entering OLED territory. Let me say, as good as my 7000 is (and I do love it), it's not a patch on my friends OLED.

Yeah it is getting close to OLED territory. I do really like the curved model though, which is £300 more than the 7000. But then for another £400 you can get the 9000, which is a higher model and comes with a £300 soundbar, making it only £100 more expensive. But then at £1599 you're not far away from OLED TV's. :\

OLED55C6V is supposed to have poor input latency, where as Samsung's have the lowest for 4K TV's. For gaming then definitely the Samsungs.

They fixed the poor input lag on the 55C6V with the latest firmware update its now at 30ms in game mode yes its not as low as the samsung at around 21ms but i doubt you would notice any difference:)

And yes i have a PS4 PRO running on my 55C6V :p

The C6V uses the same chip as the higher end OLED models (E6, G6) so it already has the input lag fix for HDR Gaming. The B6V is still awaiting the update but will get it. The OLED TVs are perfect for gaming on and produce a fantastic image.

OK, just come back from Curry's having viewed them all and still having trouble deciding!

It's going to come down to how much I want to spend I think.

£900 - KS7000 - 55" LED HDR + keep existing Samsung Soundbar.
£1600 - KS9000 - 55" LED HDR Curved + Samsung Curved Soundbar.
£2000 - LG OLED55C6V - 55" OLED HDR Curved + LG Soundbar.

Ruled out 2 at least -

KS7500 - not sure it's worth £300 more than the KS7000.
KS8000 - may as well spend £200 extra and get the KS9000 with a soundbar.

Unless there's a good deal on the KS7500 which puts it closer to the £900 of the KS7000?

Any further thoughts?

OK just found a site doing the KS7500 for £999 shipped with a discount code, decisions....

KS7000 or OLED

if your gaming then I personally would go for the KS7000 regardless if input lagg.

I'm unsure of how good OLED is when it comes to image retention, etc which will happen with gaming.

OLED is also very expensive and only enthusiasts tend to pay the premium for such.

Put it this way if your asking questions like what is the difference between the 7000, 8000 and 9000 then OLED isn't really for you IMO. I doubt you would be able to tell why it's better.

Get the KS7000

OK KS7000 it is :)

Now to find the best price, £899 delivered is the cheapest I have seen.......

buy from John Lewis and you get 5 year guarantee for free. They also give you 30 days to price match it. So if a competitor has it on offer for £400 next week they will match it and refund you so long as it's within their match period of 30 days or whatever it is. Possibly 60 days.

Awesome, thanks. That's where I'm seeing it for £899 delivered :)
