The sensible thing is to wait until Vega hits and then decide which video card is best for you. Price points will go down either red or green and that will be a canny buy.

I doubt Vega will be rubbish considering the new CPU from AMD. I'll probably stick with nvidia but want to get something cheaper. This £700 ti stuff is silly.

I try and support sites by not blocking ads - unless the page is a mess of additional content and 100s of ads as well as the main content - but for some reason some sites see my security scripts as an ad blocker and try to lockdown :s

Do the same via white listing but a lot of sites I supported are terrible for adds now. You forget how bad it's got in general until you use a computer that doesn't have an add blocker.

Was going to get a discounted evga 1080, may as well see what vega brings!
Yeah, I saw a MSI Armor 1080 on sale brand new for £420 and considered it for 2 seconds. Pascal does not excite me though, really want to see some Vega reviews before buying anything. If it is a flop will try and be patient and wait for Volta.

Interesting, Tom Petersen gets asked why the aggressive pricing on the GTX 1080Ti, and he gives a spiel about excitement for gaming but then drops this

Looks like they think they Had to release the Ti, and lower prices due to "changes in the market", sounds like preemptively trying to gain more market share before Vega drops. Makes me think they believe Vega is more powerful than most suspect.

That would be nice, After all we've had to skip a generation at the high end so we deserve a bit of extra oomph for patiently waiting and not jumping ship :D

I'm hoping this is true and not faked

If that's true then its Vega 10 which is small vega and the one seen in the demos and Vega 10x2? Well that just looks a beast. Vega 11 next year? To compete with Volta?

God, I would shove a blunt jackhammer in my ear and fire it up rather than listen to this doddering, tangential and irritating git ever again. People sook about Adored TV but at least he spends time to back his theories with comprehensive, plain English (Scottish) arguments based on logic and good visuals, even if he gets it wrong it's down to misinterpretation of data rather than omission. This clown was all over the place like he was on crack and his graphs weren't even sync'd. Correction, his use of other people's IP was badly sync'd.

I don't disagree with what he was saying but just was put off by the amateurish ad-lib crud pouring forth. Youtube has it's hits & misses.

If they do go with small Vega first I think theyre taking the pee,
We've been waiting over a year for a highend card from AMD and with the 400 series we had to sit back and do without or change brand so now they need to show the high-end some love.

I'd be suprised if they do release small vega first they released the RX 480 first then the 470 and the 460 later. They also released the big Ryzen chips first with the lower spec chips to follow, etc.

the confusing thing is, I'm sure all along everyone said the bigger card would be out first, even raja or someone at an AMD event...im almost 99% certain.
